The resort was beautiful and we overall had a great experience. We loved the service and our concierge butlers. They were so helpful in scheduling our dinner reservations and spa treatments. We mainly stuck to the pools on the impressions side of the resort because the secrets side was a little too much of a party vibe while we were there (there appeared to be a couple corporate events taking place). The staff at the impressions resort side pools were great and very attentive. I felt the only service issues we had were at some of the Secret side restaurants. Our room was beautiful and we loved the privacy of not having a resort view room. Now to the not so good...our room smelled BAD, the mildew smell was so strong every time we entered the room and it followed all our clothes and luggage home with us. It took a lot of washing to get rid of the smell. I cannot imagine there isn't hidden mold somewhere in that room given how bad the smell was. I have stayed at many resorts in the Cancun area and this is the only resort where we have experienced this at this level. I feel they needed to handle humidity better given the price point of these rooms. Otherwise the resort was beautiful, the food and service were good (not great) but we generally enjoyed our time. Would I pay this much again for a questionably mold filled room?...probably not.

This hotel was a truly wonderful experience! — We got upgraded to an ocean view room, very spacious and beautiful. The room was well maintained and cleaned upon request. — Food is delicious and the choices are generous, keep in mind though it can be crowded at certain restos esp. during peak hours, so try to come in at odd times. The Impression side tends to be less busy. — Staff is attentive and friendly, doing their best to take care of everyone. Our butlers Rafa and Gilbert were always on top of everything. — The pool options are unparalleled, I highly recommend the Rooftop + Cielo. — The spa is good too! We were allowed to exchange the complimentary massage for hydrocircuit therapy instead. What could be improved: — Taking reservations for restos to reduce lines. — The resort credit can’t exactly be used unless you already spend a substantial amount. For Impression vs Secrets comparison, don’t hesitate to upgrade to Impression if you want to make sure you have more privacy and less crowds. It’s totally worth the extra $. We just returned from a 3-day birthday trip to Impression Moxché by Secrets and overall had mixed feelings. The property itself is absolutely beautiful — the grounds are spotless, the design is stunning, and there are plenty of restaurant options. One of our favorite parts of the trip was the live music at Bamboo every night, which really added to the atmosphere. That said, there were several disappointments, especially considering the cost. The beach is truly unusable because of the seaweed situation, so don’t come expecting a swimmable beach experience. The coffee shop was just okay, and cocktails throughout the resort were consistently too sweet no matter how we tried ordering them. Restaurant experiences were very hit or miss. Food wait times were extremely long almost everywhere except Bisou. On our first night, we checked in during the afternoon and were told by our butler there were no reservations left. We were advised to do a walk-in and told the wait would be “40 minutes max” — it ended up being 2 hours before we got seated. Restaurant notes: • Allora — appetizers were underwhelming, tomatoes were green, and the restaurant lacked any real Italian vibe. • Bisou — surprisingly excellent. Food, desserts, and service from Ismael were outstanding. • Ember — not impressed. Service took forever and the meat quality/preparation wasn’t great. Medium well came out very well done. • Seasoul — best lunch of the trip by far. Beautiful setting and amazing food. • Observatory — great breakfast on our last day, but again, very long wait for food. • Cielo — ate lunch here twice. The smash burger and brownie dessert were both excellent. • Market Cafe — solid breakfast buffet with great variety. The spa was enjoyable overall. The water circuit was relaxing and the massage was good, though not extraordinary. We only did the spa because we received free passes through the UVC presentation. The UVC/timeshare presentation was honestly not worth it. It lasted well beyond the promised 90 minutes, mostly because of excessive small talk before even getting to the numbers. Management became pushy when we declined, and Draco in particular was not cordial afterward. We almost missed the opportunity to use our complimentary massage because the presentation ran so long. Giuliano thankfully stepped in and helped secure us a spa slot at the last minute, which we appreciated. Another disappointment was the butler service. For us, it added very little value and felt completely dispensable. Responses were slow and most of the reservation requests we asked for couldn’t be secured. One major downside: all pools and even the hot tubs close at 7pm, which felt way too early for a luxury resort. If the outdoor tub in the room had jets it would make up for it.. but honestly not sure why the room has identical tubs inside and outside. The room is beautiful, however, and has an amazing rain shower. Overall, the property is visually stunning, but we personally didn’t feel it justified the price. We booked using points — and it was still a LOT of points. There also seems to be very little distinction between Secrets and Impressions since most restaurants and facilities are shared anyway.

My husband and I both got food poisoning. We’ve never done an all inclusive before, but decided to for our baby moon so we could relax and not leave the resort. In being on our babymoon and GF, I was bummed at the lack of mocktail options. GF options were okay but not every server was aware of gluten free options and the menus weren’t consistent with providing that information. The food was amazing but we were surprised to both get food poisoning, and from the Impressions specific restaurant at that since it’s only for the Impressions guests and supposedly higher end. It sucks to get food poisoning in general, but to get food poisoning when pregnant in a foreign country is definitely a different level of anxiety. Even after completing the survey after our trip, no one reached out to us — hence why I’m reluctantly writing this review. The place was beautiful and rooms were incredible. We noticed a lot of people had signs on their doors for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoon; but even though I had indicated we were there for our babymoon when booking the trip, reception had to ask if we were celebrating anything. The butlers made it right once they found out what we were celebrating. Yoga and gym were amazing. Spa was beautiful. Overall, fun and beautiful trip, but for the price you pay to stay at Impressions, I was a little disappointed at the lack of attention to detail.

Incredible please! I've been to many resorts and this has been placed at #1 on the list. Names worth mentioning are Axel and Cristian, the entertainment staff. Roberto, by the pool helping us with drinks was on top of his game! Cesar and Omar, our butlers, were very good and very professional. All of these people were born to work with other people. Excellent views throughout the resort. I would recommend staying at Secrets Moxche and then spending a single night or two at Impression so you can enjoy the roof top and try the food.
