How far is the nearest beach?

Distance from city centre

The Luxor Hotel and Casino is located on the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip, directly connected with the Excalibur Hotel and Mandalay Bay. Head north along the strip to explore all this dazzling city has to offer. To walk the full length of the strip from the Luxor is approximately 2.5 miles.

Distance from airport

McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas is approximately 3 miles from the Luxor Hotel and Casino. Don’t forget to look out the window on the plane to spot this impressive pyramid as you fly in.

Well, this was my first and, probably, last stay at Luxor. I go to Vegas once a year on business (CES conference), and stay in Marriott properties, now including MGM as Marriott partners. Vegas was quite busy, and Luxor was inexpensive and fairly convenient in terms of location. This is where positives mostly end. It is vastly understaffed, and there was no interaction with front desk at all, except grabbing a key. There is always huge queue of people patiently waiting for check in/check out/service, even Priority Desk has long wait. Plus the whole hotel/resort is not attractive, dark and gloomy. It is not well maintained and well past its prime. There was nowhere to grab something decent to eat when I arrived on Wed night. Rooms were good sized and fairly clean. The common areas, including the hotel guest floors, didn't look spotlessly clean, to be honest. I understand it is not expensive, but still would go back to something nicer in Vegas next time. Particularly if it is 2+ nights stay.

Like all Vegas hotels the goal seems to be to extract the max amount of money for the minimum value. Check in line was atrocious. Parking was a pain to get in and out of due to their card key system not fully working and only one gate on the top floor. Rooms were adequate but no coffee maker or fridge or anything. Super noisy ice maker worked but I hope you don’t end up in the room next to it. The mobile key didn’t work and I had to walk the mile back the check in for a physical key. The shower didn’t drain properly. My friend’s room didnt have hot water and the ac broke. Noise from outside was very audible. I will make it a point to avoid staying here in future. Like a lot of people I saw I was here for a kid sports tournament due to stay and play rules. Starbucks in hotel only allows order ahead if you pay with a gift card and otherwise is a very long line at popular morning times. On the plus side the elevators are quick.

Although the bed and pillows were very comfortable and the bathroom is nice, the room lacks a mini refrigerator, microwave, amd coffee maker. I upgraded for a larger window, but I have no view of anything. I overlook a roof top and then the pyramid blocks the view of anything else. The pyramid is a black triangle, nothing to look at. You pay for parking, you pay for breakfast, nothing is included with the room. Location wise, it is so far to one end of the strip that it makes for a long walk to enjoy what the strip has to offer. And I wouldn't bring children here. They advertise a sexy show everywhere and pretty explicitly.

The 2 queen bed room was nice, clean and not cramped feeling which was nice. We asked for a roll away bed which was brought to us fairly quickly and the housekeeping staff was very friendly. The casino was kept clean and employees were constantly wiping down the machines and chairs. Diablos Cantina is located here and they are delicious! The Titanic exhibit is also here and we really enjoyed walking through it. There's also a playground place that is only for older kids (13+ I believe) and adults, with adult only hours as well. There's a food court, and a couple of other restaurants as well. This hotel also connects to Excalibur and to Mandalay Bay.

My wife and I, and a few friends recently took a trip to Vegas where we stayed at the Luxor Hotel. Firstly, The building design has always intrigued me and the atmosphere definitely has an Egyptian feel to it. Overall, the rooms are decent. I do think they could remodel them to fit the Egyptian theme, but it is what it is. I will say, staff (room service) was very prompt in the morning! They accommodated everything we asked for very promptly! The downside about the stay is how the rooms are setup. Which can only be b/c of the design of the hotel itself. It felt like we had to walk 1.5 miles just to get to the elevators! The fact that MOST rooms don't have a microwave or fridge was a little frustrating. My only other gripe was how far the hotel is off the strip. Which isn't necessarily a BAD thing, but the tram services should definitely run the whole course of strip w/o cost...but....it's Las Vegas...so there's trade-offs! Nonetheless, I would stay again, just make sure you bring good shoes lol.
