Our experience was amazing in the Royal Level. We had a private pool and the Royal Front desk concierge were super friendly and helpful. The hotel has a private entrance to the Xcaret Park which is like a 5min walk. The hotel grounds are very lush with nature and well kept. We saw people daily tending to the areas and the room service was on top of maintaining our room. The buffet was so delicious, however the service was superb. We got paired with Luis Molina who was super attentive to our needs and provided great service to my family and myself. He made us have a great dining experience and brought even more joy to our table. We would definitely consider coming back as all staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel was beautiful and relaxing.

Everywhere we went they were very attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. Every time we crossed the path of an employee they made sure to greet us and ask if we needed anything. Restaurant food was great. waiters and waitresses paid excellent attention at every restaurant that we were at. Diego, waiter at the restaurant near the beach, he was very attentive and helpful… not too mention a great sense of humor!! Alejandro at the steak house was always willing to help and Huritces took great care of us during our meal.

I've been to this all inclusive two times, 11 years apart. Much has changed and much has stayed the same. All the people are super friendly and helpful and speak English and Spanish. The food is very varied at the buffets. And the protected beach and pools were great. And are safe for kids. Some tips: Bring your own yeti-type mug to get drinks around the property. Book your restaurant meals ASAP, because the spots are limited and they can run out! Get the unlimited xcaret package if you plan to go more than 1x, which is way worth it. I loved all the animals walking around the grounds. I don't love the concierge time share sell, I get it, I just wish there was a better way than the breakfast hard-sell. I will probably be back here some time in the future.

This was our first hotel stay in Mexico, and unfortunately it left a very negative impression. The property positions itself as a high-end hotel, and the price reflects that. However, the overall experience did not match the rate charged. Upon arrival after a night flight, we were exhausted and hoping to eat something and check in quickly. Instead, we were informed that all food outlets were closed and no alternatives were available. The check-in process was unexpectedly slow, despite the reception area being almost empty. We also had to wait an excessive amount of time for our luggage, even though our room was located very close to reception. The room itself was extremely disappointing. There were visible signs of humidity, mold, limescale stains, and overall deterioration. Due to the jungle climate and poor ventilation, nothing dried properly during our stay. By the end of the trip, our personal belongings were affected by constant dampness. The food quality did not correspond to the hotel’s price category. Buffet options were limited and uninspiring. The à la carte restaurants were also underwhelming. The only consistently positive aspect was the cocktails. We were invited to a “welcome meeting” which turned out to be a sales presentation for a yearly membership program. After we politely declined, the tone of the interaction noticeably changed and felt unprofessional. Additionally, I previously shared a detailed review of our experience which is no longer visible. I am reposting this to ensure that future guests have a complete and transparent picture before booking. For the price paid, this hotel did not deliver the level of comfort, service, or quality expected. Unfortunately, this experience significantly impacted our first impression of Mexico. I would strongly advise future travelers to carefully evaluate whether this property aligns with their expectations.

We made reservations to the D’Oriental restaurant at Xcaret Occidental. Our server Russel was amazing. He was attentive, kind and funny. Russel spoke both English and Spanish and joked in both languages. He actually had me laughing out loud nearly spitting my Mezcal out of my nose. He is an asset to The Occidental. Cheers to the chefs Adriana and Abimael because everything we ordered was amazing. The sushi was on point. I cannot recommend the restaurant more if only for the amazing staff.
