We traveled as a couple to El Beso. The resort is very family oriented and not what we expected. El Beso was only a small part with a dedicated lunch and bar. The restaurant advertised as being for guests of El Beso was open to everyone including many children. The rooms were large and well equipped, however, they remained on the dirty side for most of our trip. Throughout the resort, the bars are closed early and hard to come by. The restaurants are closed mostly except for the evening. The buffet was okay, our personal favourite was the Margarita restaurant. We found the Steakhouse absolutely horrible with cheap cuts of meat drenched in butter. (I understand this is an all inclusive but this was by far the worst steak I have had) At many points, there would be vendors advertising various things (massages, photos, excursions, etc.) it could get annoying but the vendors were very respectful and not overly pushy. Throughout the resort, there are constantly places or opportunities for guests to “upgrade” we did not use these but they were constantly advertised to us. The El Beso pool was a party pool, constant music and loud people with heavy drinking. Totally okay but the pool is small and most of it taken up by Premium loungers. As most resorts, there is an issue with people reserving chairs for the day and not using them by laying towels or personnal effects. I did not see rules about this and rhe staff did not seem to bother. We spent most of our time looking for loungers or places to put our belongings. We rarely saw these people come back. The drinks were good, bar staff was fun and very responsive. The liquor and beer was bottom shelf unless you were a premium member. The beach is extremely small and at the time we went unswimmable due to algae. Tl;dr good for families. El Beso is definitely not a romantic destination for people looking fkr time away from kids. Food is alright, drinks are alright. Enjoyed our time but we will not return.

We visited Margaritas for dinner with a party of six. Since we didn’t have reservations, we were a little worried we wouldn’t be able to get a table. Leticia greeted us and asked about our reservation, and when we told her we didn’t have one, she saw how excited we were to experience the restaurant and went above and beyond to accommodate us. She made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. We also had the pleasure of being served by Jesus, and his service was outstanding. He was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent recommendations throughout our meal. Both Leticia and Jesus made our dining experience memorable, and their hospitality truly stood out.

The hotel is a wonderful, family-friendly destination with a few adults-only areas for those looking for a quieter atmosphere. Our favorite restaurant was Margarita — if you visit, look for Jesus Miguel (server) and Mario (quesadilla maker). They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. Mario’s quesadillas were so good you’ll probably end up having more than one while enjoying some great conversation with him. If you become a Privilege or Exclusive member, ask for Alen as your advisor. He helped my friends and me find the best places to visit and arranged our restaurant reservations to fit perfectly into our schedule. The resort itself is a great place to stay and enjoy without ever needing to leave the property. There are plenty of activities and entertainment options, and the whole resort feels like a small town with something for everyone.

I just experienced one of the most delicious set menus I’ve had in a very long time here at this resort. Honestly, it felt like dining at an André Michelin-star-level experience. Every dish was thoughtful, creative, and beautifully executed. From the cocktails to the entrées, everything felt outside the box in the best possible way — unique flavors, artistic presentation, and combinations I wouldn’t have expected but absolutely loved. It’s actually difficult to critique anything because the entire experience was so well done from start to finish. Huge compliments to Chef Carlos, Chef Yuritzi, Omar, Anapolo, and Eliseo for creating such a memorable dining experience. You can genuinely feel the passion behind every plate. Highly recommend this place if you appreciate creative cuisine, elevated dining, and chefs who clearly care about the details. The food alone is worth the visit.

How to put into words how horrible this stay was at the ocean Riviera paradise in Playa Del Carmen. First at the airport it was very difficult to find the car service that takes you to the resort once we got to the resort and checked into our room, our beds were incorrect. We asked for two double and received one king. On day two, we were able to move rooms with double beds. Upon entering the rooms they are in desperate need of an update. The bathrooms have rings around the tubs streaks on the walls cracks around the bathtub. In the room the cabinet that holds the refrigerator and space for storage has woodrot. The couch in the room is supposed to be white leather, but is stained with so much rust I wouldn’t even sit on it and our sheets were stained and the mattress was so beat down it just sags. On top of all of this the floor was filthy one day wearing house shoes in the room only the bottom of them were filthy. As far as the customer service it was horrible. Workers are rude they don’t answer questions. The ones that do want to talk to you want to sell you something. Every five minutes you have to tell somebody NO you don’t wanna buy anything. You don’t want a massage you don’t wanna take an excursion you don’t want to take a picture with an animal. I have never been to an all-inclusive where it is so segregated between privileged and regular guest. We had friends in the privilege building and were told that we could use their pool with them we just couldn’t use the amenities which was fine and then a bartender at the swim up told us to get out of the pool because we didn’t have the right color band on or we could pay an additional $180 to spend the day in that pool so two workers in the same area don’t even have the same information. As far as the steakhouse restaurant absolutely hundred percent do not recommend they cannot cook a steak to save their life unless it’s burnt and that’s what you like and the steak is so thin it’s not even worth it. The Japanese restaurant Sakura was the best place on the whole resort you do have to stand in line the day of to get a reservation. The buffet was OK. I would say food is a 6 out of 10 across the whole resort now for the beach if you think you’re gonna get white sands and blue ocean you are sadly mistaken. Their beach at this resort is so rocky and the water is murky. It is not worth even going down there also while at the beach, you will also be flooded with people trying to sell you things absolutely 100% save your money. This resort will never get another dime of my money for the lack of amenities, the lack of service, the lack of a beach and the lack of cleanliness.
