I was here for a convention but added days to enjoy the entire experience of being back in the Yucatan Peninsula (where I had not been for 23 years). I’ve never tried an all inclusive resort before and was worried that I would not like the food or that I would always have an opportunity to “upgrade”. The worries were not warranted and I had a great time. The selection of liquor and mixed drinks is excellent. I think they fall short on the selection of beers they could offer - and should offer some of the regionally brewed beers. But it was easy to get drinks and they are not skimping on making a quality drink. Food was also good, I especially enjoyed the Sushi, ice cream, Hibachi options. The meals catered for our group were well above average and there is no shortage of food. Plenty of desert option but they could have a bit more flavor to match how good they look. Lots of kids activities that I saw organized even through I was not staying on the Family side of the resort. There seemed to plenty to do and organized for all ages of youth and the quiet options on the Adult side were nice to know they existed. Big rooms, beautiful spaces that are clean and well maintained. The beach is a great place to hang out. People do get in the water and swim - and enjoy it; BUT the ocean grass/sea weed is intense and constantly being pushed towards the shore and raked up by staff. It is in the water and washes over you.

This is a great family resort for kids aged 0-6 years old. The resort itself is very well maintained, rooms are large and the daily housekeeping was very thorough. There are elevators in all the resort buildings, so families with strollers or accessibility issues don't need to worry. All the staff we encountered were very friendly, always smiling and happy to help. They all dress professionally in nice uniforms. No matter where you choose to lounge, there was always someone coming over and offering to bring you a drink. There are food options available all day long; the only downside to the food and beverage service is the limited availability of dinner reservations - we could only get 5pm reservations our whole week. The Aqua Zone was awesome, they have 2-3 lifeguards working at a time to ensure safety for everyone. This pool was 'cloudy' , I think due to everyone layering on sunscreen then jumping in; otherwise all the other pools were crystal clear. Fresh pool towels were always available. Be wary of the 'Circle Club' representatives approaching you; they sit at the 'guest concierge' desk, but really are trying to sell you on memberships. All dining reservations are actually made at the 'culinary experience' desk. Once we figured out how everything works this wasn't a problem. They have a 24hr coffee/pastry shop, and an ice cream counter open all day. They have kids activities every morning and night, and evening entertainment which was great for the kids. Overall I would definitely recommend this resort to young families.

If you have toddlers — like we do (ages two and four) — this resort is absolutely for you. There were kids everywhere, and so many activities specifically designed for little ones. They really cater to families. What I loved most is that they also balance it beautifully for parents. There’s an adults-only section, and they offer a daycare/kids club with tons of activities, so you can actually enjoy a fancy dinner or some quiet time while your kids are having fun. The staff was amazing. The resort itself was beautiful. We honestly weren’t there long enough to explore everything because it’s a large property with so much to do. One thing I really want to mention — please tip the staff. They work incredibly hard, and what they’re paid is simply not enough for everything they do. Their kindness, energy, and service truly make the entire experience special. A little extra appreciation goes a long way and is very well deserved. Hands down, this is the best resort I’ve been to — and I usually like trying different ones. This one is truly top-notch.

We LOVED our stay at Paradisus and we will definitely come back next year. Highlights included the spacious rooms and (for us, the swim-out patio was absolutely amazing to allow the littles to nap while still being able to take a dip). This resort keeps families at the core of everything- generous amenities and thoughtful activities for kids, facilities and services geared to make families comfortable and enable TRUE vacation and not just a trip away from home. The food is yummy, vibrant and appealing for all kinds of tastes and needs- and the staff is so warm and accommodating across every little nook of the resort. Our family has a rather special circumstance: we have a special needs child, and traveling for us comes with a number of additional complexities. Families like ours often don't go on trips because of the difficulty it brings. But at Paradisus, we were warmly received and my son was treated with such kindness, respect and hospitality that I was truly moved to tears. He has a special diet, and the concierge, restaurant managers and head chef went out of their way, above and beyond, every single day, to ensure he was included and provided for like any other guest. We are utterly grateful for the sincere hospitality and kindness we experienced.... For the parents of special needs kids, to be cared for in this way was a gesture and experience that was deeply meaningful. Thank you to our exceptional concierge, Erika, for her thoughtfulness and kindness. Thank you to chef Monserrat, I want you to know that our son was happy and thriving under your care, thank you to the teams at all the restaurants we visited - Flora and Cielo and the hibachi restaurant, for treating us with hospitality and care. We are excited to come back next year!

La Perla (the adult only side) was the best resort experience. The staff made it a dream vacation. Ismael and Sandy at Hadar buffet were so much fun and provided great service, as did Jaime at Lemon Fish with his jokes and recommendations. Alberto and Ada gave incredible massages at the Spa. Victor in the room lobby was such a kind face to see in the morning and had our regular drinks memorized after the first time. Paola gave us the marketing spiel and she was so kind even after she passed us off to the sales members, Alejandra and Pietro. They too were so welcoming and it was honestly because of the staff that we became Melia members! Highly recommend this resort. We will for sure be back!
