I thought it was about time I wrote a long-overdue review for the Samala Hotel Bangkok. This would be my seventh or eighth stay, and each visit reminds me why I keep coming back. Perfectly located in Sukhumvit Soi 15, the hotel is ideal for anyone wanting to be in the heart of one of Bangkok’s most vibrant and exciting areas. In terms of value for money, I genuinely believe it’s one of the best hotels in this part of the city. From the spacious rooms and impeccable cleanliness to the excellent gym, pool facilities, and outstanding buffet breakfast, everything is first class and represents exceptional value. What truly makes the Samala Hotel so special, however, is its people. The fact that many of the staff have been there for years is a testament to the management and the culture they have created. A special thank you to Nicky, who always greets guests with a warm smile and friendly welcome at the door; to Minnie, whose radiant personality and impeccable attention to guests make every stay memorable; and to Tan, whose infectious energy and superb cocktails by the pool are always a highlight. The rooms are genuinely beautiful, spacious, and modernly designed, and the hotel overall has a very nice atmosphere. However, we were disappointed with one thing. From the beginning, including in our booking preferences, we specifically requested a room on a higher floor with a view. At check-in, we were told that we had received a “room upgrade,” which initially sounded great, so we didn’t question it much. But when we entered the room (floor 2), it honestly felt like it was in a basement. There was no real view at all, only a wall and artificial greenery outside the window. I personally felt uncomfortable the entire time, almost like being inside a ship cabin. We immediately requested a room change, and thankfully the next day we received the type of room we had originally asked for. That room was excellent, with a lovely view who completely changed our impression of the stay. Aside from that issue, the rooms are truly very nice, clean, spacious, and modern. The staff were polite and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was average in my opinion, nothing particularly memorable, but still decent enough.

We stayed for 4 nights and had the best time, amazing location, walking distance to trains, bus tops and Terminal 21 ASOK. We received a free room upgrade which made the whole stay even more enjoyable. Very friendly staff, amazing breakfast with a large selection of delicious food. 10/10 would highly recommend, when we come back to Bangkok this is where we’ll be staying!

I wanted to try a new hotel after being a regular visitor to Bangkok, i chose this place as it had very good reviews and those reviews are real, i was checked in by SonT who was very professional and has a good sense of humour, he made me feel veey welcome and organised everything for me. The location is great, walking distance from T21 and surrounding food and bars. The rooms are very and i must say the bed was extremely comfortable. Great selection for breakfast and has a rooftop pool. The staff are very friendly throughout and because of all of the above i have booked a further stay at Samala. Staff were welcoming and friendly, and the rooms were clean. The King room was relatively small compared to other hotels in the same category. The breakfast selection changed daily. While the food was enjoyable, the overall quality did not quite meet the standard expected of a 4-star hotel. The rooftop pool is beautiful, fewer sun beds as it’s a small space. 10 min walk to Terminal 21 shopping mall, I used their shuttle service too.
