Visited for five nights with two couples total and this place was definitely worth it! Clean and comfortable rooms, delicious food, and amazing staff... there is no reason to go to an all-inclusive and not experience the very best, and the staff here will take the very best care of you! Yes, tipping is appreciated by them and when they go above and beyond, they deserve it. Here are a few of the amazing staff members we appreciated so much: GiGi (Argyles?)... awesome activities coordinator, along with Maria! Luis Mario, Ismael, and Omar were the most amazing wait staff for our days on the beach. Get by the beach and you will never get up to get a drink while you're there... these guys are great! Alejandro and Riccardo at the Wok restaurant, this was our favorite and we were able to get in twice! Amazing service, amazing food, and the reason we slept so well with full bellies. Kayla took care of our cabana daily, making sure we were stocked with beach towels and our cabana and items were safe and watched over. Lastly, but not least, Olga and Brillis at the Coffee Bar every day with the Frappuccino Passion was the best way to start the day (even before breakfast!). We had so many great experiences while we were there, from karaoke and singing, to the pools and beach, to the restaurants and quality staff. Never had a negative encounter, not once. Go, enjoy, let loose, and have a great time!!!

I booked this hotel through Amex travel and if you planning to stay here, I highly encourage you to stay away! They advertise it as luxury resort but the hotel does not provide luxury service/products. They also advertise it as all inclusive with no fine print of what type of things are included (when Amex called before booking, they confirmed that there is only one package available and it is all inclusive) . When you get to the property, they try to charge you extra. Be aware, that they serve only cheap alcohol as part of your all inclusive package. How is that for luxury experience? The manager tried to sell a bottle of Don Julio to me at a 10% discount which was a disgrace and it defeats the purpose of staying at an all inclusive “luxury” hotel. Seriously? You’d get better service and Don Julio as part of your all inclusive package at a hotel like “grand Bavaro Princess” Amex tried to contact the property numerous times and no conclusion was reached. In addition, WiFi does not work properly and when I brought this issue up to management, they said I should use it in a different area. I tried bringing this issue up again the next day and they looked at me like I do not know what I am talking about. The hotel is old and certain areas are pretty beat up so definitely not worth spending $450 per night here. When I was checking in, I was told that I would have a personal butler (which was not originally advertised at the time of booking) and that the butler will help me with any issues and with reservations. He was not interested and said that I do not need any. Overall, a lot of false advertisement and management cannot really accommodate you.

My wife and I traveled here and stayed 5 days/4 nights the first week of May 2026. We stayed in “The Castle” with a walk out oceanfront room. This was our first all inclusive experience and we really enjoyed it. The food was great and all the staff were extremely polite/helpful. Several pools to choose from and the resort felt pretty empty (likely since it was after peak season). We chose this resort as it was recommended for a more relaxing experience without the “party” vibe. Many of the couples were older or newlyweds, which is what we were hoping for. We also got a couple’s massage at the spa, which was great. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a more relaxing experience and not a party crowd.

The people who work there are very nice BUT the administration is terrible. They have 4 restaurants that are supposed to provide dinner every night, however out of the 6 nights we were there, 4 nights most of those restaurants were closed. The food itself is horrible, they charge a $10 fee everytime you order room service, regardless of where in the hotel you are. There are no late night options, the people in charge intimidated us in more than one occasion for asking for cheeseburgers. The floor we were staying in had around 10 rooms that they were remodeling with nails and broken pieces of plastic and wood all over the floor where people tend to walk barefoot on. Overall it was a very bad experience and I’ve been to over 20 all inclusive resorts in Dominican Republic only. The price is not worth the service and obviously you get no quality attention no matter how much you tip (and we spent over $500 in gratuity). Do not recommend, this is not a luxury resort and whoever manages and administers this hotel needs to make serious changes in every aspect. Not to mention a couple we met had the roof cave in while they were getting a couples massage, I mean absolutely irredeemable. Think a million times before booking here. Again, workers were lovely, administration and management were atrocious.

Relaxing Atmosphere, Beautiful Rooms, and Warm Hospitality Sanctuary at Cap Cana delivers the kind of atmosphere that makes a getaway feel effortless. The resort has a calm, upscale vibe that sets the tone the moment you arrive. My room was very nice—well‑kept, comfortable, and designed to make you feel like you’re truly on vacation. One of the highlights of the stay was the people. Everyone I encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making guests feel at home. The food throughout the resort was well presented, with dishes that looked as good as they tasted. The only thing I’d suggest for future visitors is to plan your trip during a time of year when seaweed isn’t heavy on the beaches. It’s a natural occurrence in the region, but it can affect the shoreline experience depending on the season. Overall, Sanctuary at Cap Cana offers a wonderful atmosphere, great service, and a relaxing stay—just be mindful of the seaweed season when choosing your dates.
