This resort falls short of a true 5-star experience. There's a noticeable inconsistency in staff attitude, reception staff were very friendly and welcoming, but bar staff came across as somewhat arrogant at times, possibly a cultural difference in communication style. Food was unremarkable and lacked variety. Drinks were a bigger disappointment: alcohol in general and cocktails especially were extremely weak, both in presentation and taste, more like a glass of juice with a single (rationed) ice cube than an actual cocktail. The beach was another letdown. If you're expecting fine sand, this isn't it, the shore is rocky rather than sandy. On the plus side, there's coral and marine life nearby worth exploring if you enjoy snorkeling. Some information was only provided in German, which was inconvenient, and signage throughout the resort was generally lacking. The most problematic issue, in my opinion, was air conditioning hygiene. If you're sensitive to dust mites or mould, waking up congested became a daily occurrence. In a hot destination, having AC units that seem poorly maintained is a real problem. Overall, given the price point and category this resort positions itself in, it didn't meet expectations.

We spend very beautiful holidays at Serenity Hotel. The hotel was stunning, with several pools, a lot of green spaces and a direct access to the sea. Everything was very well-maintained and very clean. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. It was also very well located, close to the garden and the beach, which was very peaceful for us. Haithem, our housekeeper, was very professional and kind. He nicely answered all of our questions during our stay, and deliver exceptional work. It was a pleasure to get back to our freshly cleaned room after enjoying our breakfast, thanks to him. We also enjoyed the variety of food offered in the buffet restaurants and how well it was prepared.

Our first time to Makida Bay Nov 2025 and to the Serenity Alpha beach. First night given a room with twin bed (we had requested a double), we changed this the following afternoon to 2112. Found the main restaurant to be very busy, drink service in the restaurant indifferent (some days good / others bad). Now egg station chef I would give him 4/10 🥺, often omelettes were still runny inside not good, queues could get to 10 people, chef should be making greater use hotplate. Choice of food plentiful. We did use the beach lunch bar and to be honest found that to be very disorganised and slow - lucky to get a single drink there some day's - in contrast we visited the Serenity Fun City for lunch their service was excellent, staff proactive couldn't be faulted. After several days used the Bayview restaurant for breakfast and dinner and once again the egg station chef 5/10 - gave me someone else's omelette one day and omelette raw inside (runny) a couple of days (he wasn't under pressure like the main restaurant), drinks also in here indifferent. Tried the a la carte restaurants and preferred the restaurants at the Serenity Fun City - waiting staff so much better and efficient (our favourites being Italian, Chinese and Lebanese restaurants). Got to say I was rather upset / angry with the chef at the Mexican restaurant (Alpha beac) - the chille served was way too hot, I'm used to hot food but my eyes were streaming, the waiters laughed, I told the chef to try the chilli but he refused! Surely the chef should try what he serves to the customers. The laundry was a good price so we sent it off, they did a good job BUT went to reception to pay and asked for a receipt and the receptionist tried to get more money out of us asking for more than was on the receipt until we queried it. Must say it's rather a steep incline from the beach area to main restaurant area Alpha Beach. Must say the staff at Serenity Fun City are so much more efficient, friendly, switched on compared to Alpha beach, well done to them. Would we go back to Serenity Alpha beach hmm tough call.

The best hotel we've ever been to. Highly recommended :) Special shout-out for our room staff, Ahmed! He was the friendliest person I've ever met in my life, always smiling, and always making the "extra" step to ensure our holiday was the best it could possibly be. The staff altogether (reception, service, bar, kitchen, cleaning, even the gardeners) was the most professional and friendly we've ever witnessed. Special mention about the food: such quality and so many options every day is simply amazing, you could see that the people working here are doing it with all their heart ❤️ We will definitely be back as often as possible 🥳

We had a wonderful stay overall, and the hotel itself was beautiful. The staff were generally friendly, and we enjoyed our vacation. However, our experience at check-out was very disappointing. After checking out, we were stopped and told that a glass balcony door in our room was damaged. We were surprised because during our entire stay we never noticed any broken glass, and we never used that side of the balcony since the furniture made it difficult to access. If we had known there was any damage, we would have reported it immediately. We were asked to pay a €100 penalty for the damage. What made the situation even more frustrating was that we felt we were being treated as if we were responsible without any clear evidence that the damage happened during our stay. One of my family members remembers seeing yellow tape on that area earlier, but we did not realize it indicated damaged glass, which made us question whether the damage might have already existed. The entire situation was embarrassing, especially since we were traveling with a large medical group. It left us feeling accused of something we genuinely do not believe we caused. I recommend that future guests carefully inspect their room, especially any glass doors, windows, and the balcony, as soon as they check in, and immediately report anything unusual to avoid similar situations. This unfortunate experience overshadowed what had otherwise been a very enjoyable vacation. When we arrived, we also experienced an issue with our room. We had paid for a triple room, but we were initially told that no triple rooms were available and were given a double room with an extra bed instead. This was not what we had booked or paid for. After speaking calmly with the reception staff, they understood our concern and moved us to a proper triple room, which we appreciated. The new room was spacious and looked nice, but the cleanliness could have been better. For example, the carpet did not seem very clean, and overall the room was not at the standard we expected from a hotel of this category.
