One cannot say enough good things about the Shangri-La. From the second you enter, staff are attentive, kind, and helpful. We arrived after 18 hours of flying and too early to check in, and the staff was kind enough to hold our bags and allow us to lounge by the pool until our room was ready. The location is simply spectacular. Every inch of the building is luxurious and well maintained, from the breathtaking pool area, the tasty restaurants, the truly amazing spa, and of course the rooms. We got a river view room, and it exceeded our expectations entirely. The bed was plush and comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and clean, and all the furnishings were beautiful. This hotel is truly worth the money, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Well done.

Unforgettable stay with exceptional service at Shangri-La Bangkok Location & Facilities The location was absolutely fantastic. The seamless indoor connection between the Shangri-La Wing and the Krungthep Wing was a huge plus—we didn’t have to worry about the heat or sudden rain when moving around. Special Memories & Service Highlights * Warm Birthday Hospitality: Since this trip was to celebrate my parents' birthday, I informed the hotel in advance. They thoughtfully prepared a birthday cake, which my entire family deeply appreciated. * Outstanding Assistance by "JI": We stayed in connecting rooms and accidentally locked ourselves out when an internal latch engaged. We felt terrible for causing trouble, but a wonderful front desk staff member named JI, who spoke Korean, handled the situation brilliantly. JI reassured us in Korean to ease our anxiety, came up to our room, and solved the issue right away. Thanks to JI’s professionalism, our impression of Shangri-La grew even warmer. * Attentive Medical Care & Guest Support: While enjoying the pool, I was unfortunately stung by a hornet. When I asked the pool staff for help, they immediately brought a first-aid kit, sanitized the area, and checked if I needed a doctor. Luckily, the stinger was out, so I took my own antihistamine medication. After I returned to the room to rest, hotel staff visited to check on my well-being and express their sincere apologies. Later, they even left a lovely flower bouquet and an apology note in our room. Final Thoughts The staff's ability to handle unexpected situations with genuine empathy and professionalism was truly moving. If we visit Thailand again, we will definitely stay here and wholeheartedly recommend it to others!

We travel frequently, and so far this has been one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. The customer service was exceptional, the rooms were beautiful and spotless, and the breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious food options. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and often anticipated our needs before we even asked. The hotel also has a beautiful view and an excellent location, which made our stay even more enjoyable. My only concern was that the pool closes at 8pm, whereas other Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts properties we’ve stayed at usually keep their pools open until 10pm. Extending the pool hours would make the experience even better.

Solid stay living up to the brand name—fantastic views & exclusive lounge Overall, the Shangri-La is a very nice, beautifully created hotel that definitely lives up to its brand reputation. The Club Lounge (24th Floor): A major highlight of the stay. Located on the 24th floor, the Horizon Club Lounge offers stunning views over the Chao Phraya River and feels genuinely private and premium—far more exclusive and quiet compared to competitor setups (like Banyan Tree’s lounge on the 19th floor right off reception). Food & Dining: The food throughout our stay was good, offering a solid selection across the buffets and breakfast spread, even if it falls slightly short of the culinary heights at Banyan Tree. Pool & Grounds: The main drawback is the pool area—while surrounded by pleasant greenery along the riverfront, the pool itself is actually quite small for a property of this scale. Views & Atmosphere: Beautiful riverfront views throughout the hotel, paired with warm, classic hospitality. Verdict: A really good hotel with great river views and a superior high-floor lounge experience. Highly recommended if you value executive lounge perks and iconic river vistas!
