Had an amazing stay at Sun Palace. The place was very clean there was always someone cleaning something. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. A few names to shout out - Gabriel at the pool bar - Johnathan and Jesus at the activity pool - Silvio and Sarai serving drinks at the pool and beach. We were there for a wedding and many of those people were there as well and helpful as always - Sarai even got me some habanero hot sauce upon request. The daily buffet at the activity pool was awesome - grilled chorizo, chicken, burgers, hot dog, pizza, and always some kind of grilled veggie or salad. Pool food was really good - I recommend the Al Pastor tacos and onion rings. The Bar at night was fun! Shout the 2 male bartender and the female server - did not get their names but the service was wonderful. Chairs at pool and beach - easier the earlier you got there - fills up by about 10am - we did not see any "chair police" until the last day which was a Friday for us so Monday - Thursday. Half the beach chairs are reserved for Diamond members, but people cycle in and out, so it is not too difficult to get a chair. Thai was our favorite restaurant. Service at the restaurants can be slow - we found ourselves preferring the pool food and room service by then end as it was quicker. Overall, a great stay would return and would recommend.

I read the reviews about the service being terrible but I didn’t listen… if I could give zero stars I would. They are not accommodating at all. Our flights were delayed so I let them talk us into staying at the sister resort moon palace. $3000 later and they can’t even provide transport! I’m going to their hotel and they told us to get an UBER. Excuse me! $7000 total in the 8 days and you can’t spare transport with the palace shuttle service they have? Pick another place to go. The buffet is terrible and the only reservations available for dinner is 8 -9pm at night. The tables in the restaurants are open, but they don’t seat them. Also no buffet for dinner so you’re married to a dinner reservation. The room service was very good tho. The pools are small and there aren’t enough chairs to go around. Also you cannot save chairs. You need to pay extra to get a seat on the beach that’s in the sun. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure is great. I would not return or recommend it for the price.

The resort is small, beautiful very clean. The aparence is great. The food is not good. The List was very limited. The high end liquor was mostly not available to purchase. They seem to cater more to members people who buy their club timeshare that they try to sell when you first check in. Drive he tried to book the restaurants there was no reservation available until after 8 PM some of them after 8:30 PM. I tried to rent a chair with an umbrella they give the preferences to again the members to buy into the club. The Employees treat you depending on the color of your bracelet. There has been times that the employees help the people with the members bracelet before me was not a member, but I was there first. Chairs in pool or beach are limited to none members because most of them are reserved to the members. I try to Pay for those particular chairs and they told me I could not. I could try to find one that is empty and not reserved.. You’re not allowed to get up in the morning and reserved your chairs with your personal belongings either. I think that’s fair. properties, beautiful very clean. Well my day even the toilet paper smells very good.. it just needs some changes The things that I mentioned.

Cultured Wanderer

This is certainly a very expensive resort, but without a doubt it is also an exceptional one, and we did not regret the expense at all. The facility is beautiful, impeccably maintained, and very clean, with little sign of wear and tear. The rooms are large, spacious, and exceptionally well equipped, offering a perfect balance of comfort and luxury. The food is on another level. It is creative, plentiful, beautifully presented, and thoughtfully plated, with an impressive variety. The four restaurants were all distinctly different and showcased a great deal of creativity. The buffet exceeded expectations, featuring special touches such as Christmas pastries and breads, a yogurt bar, and a wide range of options. The alcohol selection was also excellent, offering a great variety of high-quality drinks that were well prepared. What truly sets this resort apart is the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The location is fantastic, the pool area is beautiful, and despite the resort being full, it never felt overcrowded or chaotic. Everything felt calm, relaxed, and well managed. Overall, this is an outstanding resort, and we could not be more pleased with our stay.

4.5 star luxury resort, 300ish rooms, really close to airport, all rooms are ocean view, free nightly entertainment, worth the money. All rooms are amazing, so don’t worry about which room to pick from. Great service from all staff, special thanks to Christian (concierge) who has been incredible to deal with. There are 4 restaurants, Thai, Italian, International (mostly Mexican cuisine), and Fuego (grill). Thai being the smallest so it’s hardest to get reservations for. Hotel being luxury it tend to cater to an older demographic, as a number of nightly shows contain 80s/90s themes. Average age of guest is probably 47. For first time guests, one advice is to check in and go relax. Skip the vacation planner, public relations desk and skip the presentation person for another day as those three can take a very very long time. Unlike other major hotel chains where you earn status from frequent stays, at Palace Resorts you have to buy status and their sales team can be extremely aggressive. So come back to them once you are rested. Guests are entitled to resort credits but they come with a lot of asterisks and exclusions so dont feel like you have to use them. If I do have a complaint it would be the resort credits. Palace, stop making it so hard to spend them!!!
