We recently had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The property was well maintained, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the food was excellent. What truly made our stay special was the outstanding hospitality of the staff. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about our comfort. A special thanks to Kumara by the pool, who regularly checked on us and even offered to take beautiful family photos, helping us capture some wonderful memories. We also appreciate the restaurant, room service, and housekeeping teams for their excellent service and attention to detail. Overall, a fantastic experience, and we would happily recommend this hotel to others.

WE recently had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Cinnamon Citadel Kandy, and it was truly a memorable experience from arrival to departure. The hotel's stunning location along the Mahaweli River provides breathtaking river views and a peaceful atmosphere that perfectly captures the beauty of Kandy. Waking up to the serene river scenery and enjoying the calm surroundings made the stay exceptionally relaxing. A special appreciation goes to the Front Office team – Nanjani, Amanda, and Roshan – for their warm welcome, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Their friendly approach and willingness to assist with every request ensured a smooth and comfortable stay. The room experience was equally impressive, thanks to Layan, who maintained the room to a very high standard. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-prepared, allowing us to fully enjoy our stay. The Food & Beverage experience was outstanding. Fadil, Nissanka, Sanjeewa, and Ashini provided exceptional service throughout our dining experiences. Their attentiveness, friendliness, and dedication to guest satisfaction made every meal enjoyable. The quality and variety of the food were excellent, and the team's hospitality added a personal touch that was greatly appreciated. Overall, Cinnamon Citadel Kandy exceeded expectations in every aspect. The combination of spectacular river views, comfortable accommodation, delicious cuisine, and outstanding service from the entire team made this a truly remarkable stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kandy and look forward to returning in the future.

We had such a great stay here. The staff were incredibly friendly and always happy to help, which really made a difference. They also had local performers come and dance by the pool. One of our favorite touches was having local artists come to the hotel to sell their art, we bought a few pieces and loved being able to take that experience home with us. The food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner, and Chef Ranga truly makes the best salads. We also had our laundry done during our stay, and it came back clean, perfectly ironed, and ready the very same day, all for a really affordable price. Overall, a wonderful stay with amazing views. We’d happily come back.

I recently stayed at Cinnamon Citadel Kandy and would like to share my experience. The property is beautifully located next to the river, and being part of the renowned Cinnamon brand naturally sets high expectations. Overall, the service and promptness of the team were good, and the reception staff were courteous and helpful. However, there are a few areas that need immediate attention. The breakfast experience at the 1st floor restaurant was unfortunately below the standards expected from a property of this reputation. The food quality, presentation, and overall service did not reflect the Cinnamon brand experience. What was more disappointing was that many staff members appeared frustrated, and this was noticeable in their interactions and service delivery. I also shared my concerns with the chef, hoping for acknowledgment and corrective action, but the response I received was disappointing: “What do you want me to do?” A more professional and empathetic response would have helped preserve the brand’s reputation and guest confidence. On the positive side, the Chutneys restaurant was simply superb. The hospitality, food quality, and overall dining experience there were excellent and truly commendable. The property itself feels a bit dated and would benefit from renovation and better upkeep. Additionally, the reception team seemed unclear about how the loyalty/points system works, though I would not personally blame them as this may be due to a lack of proper training or communication. In summary, Cinnamon Citadel Kandy is a pleasant property for a short one-night stay because of its location and certain positives, but I would hesitate to recommend it for a longer stay unless improvements are made, especially in the food and guest service experience. Food plays a major role in any hotel stay, and I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously. Perhaps adopting some of the standards and practices seen at Cinnamon Lodge Habarana could help elevate the guest experience here. Thank you

Had an amazing stay at Cinnamon Citadel, Kandy! The hotel is beautifully located with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and river, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms and facilities were very clean, well-maintained, and comfortable, making the overall experience truly enjoyable. The hospitality and service from the team were exceptional, always welcoming and attentive. A special thank you to Najini, Dineushi, and Thiloka for their kindness, professionalism, and for making our stay extra special.
