Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

We will never book this resort again. The resort is set up as a campus style with 3 'zones'. Little Mermaid, Cars and The Lion King. After checking in, plan to walk all the way across the campus if you're staying in the Little Mermaid section. It's a far distance in 100+ degree heat for a 7 year old. The only services are in the main building, which require walking all the way back from the LM portion of the campus. The room was not of Disney quality, the walls are concrete cinderblocks painted blue. Maid services did not service our room at all while we were there. The food was barely edible. There are pretty much zero healthy options. The best way to describe it is hospital cafeteria/gas station quality. For a family of 3 we ate 2 meals there, a dinner was $71.00, and $65.00. Neither my Husband, nor myself even finished either of the meals. I understand the price of Disney, as we cruise with them every year but the pricing here could be categorized as gouging. A 20oz bottle of soda was literally $5.50 in the vending machine near our room. There is NO need for that to cost to be so high.

Upon entering the room, it was nice and clean. They even made Mickey heads out of towels and put them on the beds after our third day when room service came in. They turned those Mickey heads into bows room was always clean so nicely. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It was nice. It was quiet even with lots of kids. They spent a lot of time in the pool, but you could not hear them best day ever.

We stayed here recently during our trip and we were blown away in every respect. The resort was terrific and our kids loved every second. Really was an amazing spot to unwind and recharge, along with having activities for the kids. The pool is awesome and the decorations (outside and in the rooms) between the different wings of the resort were great. Having a suite room was a game changer and allowed our family of four to have our own space. I can't say it enough how absolutely terrific the cast members are here. They made everything easy and fun! Food was fantastic as well. Easy transportation and access to buses and the skyline. I highly recommend this spot, we loved every moment here.

We had a reservation for a little mermaid standard room, but when we got there we received a magical upgrade to the lion king suite. We were in building 10 on the first floor not too far from the main building. Getting that upgrade was amazing for the extra room. We had three adults and I rented a scooter so having the bigger room to charge the scooter in was amazing. We were only there for 3 nights but they came on the third day to clean and give us new towels. The only real complaint I have was with the dining area. It was always so busy, which I know they can't control, but every time we ordered something it was cold by the time we sat down. The food was ok. I highly recommend the pizza for the price alone. Never by individual pieces its cheaper to just get the whole pie and share. Also the cheeseburgers were pretty good. Overall, the experience was very positive. While we had a good time we preferred Pop century and probably wouldn't come back unless we have small children.

Check in was good. My kids magic band+ would not work, they took it and gave us a voucher for a different one. When she did not find one she liked, they told us tuff luck just get one. I tried to get the old one back to get a refund they said no. I did talk to the Disney store, they said Art of animation should refund us. Art of animation said no. Disney store is working on refunding me, but I don't have the band to return. Our rooms air broke down, we told them at 8. We planned an early morning the next day. They never sent anyone or called back. At 11 I called them, they told me the building was having issues. Offered us a fan or to move. We got the fans hoping we could salvage the next day. Sadly that did not work. I know what my people need, sleep wise and the did not get it. It was also my husband and my 26th wedding anniversary. I knew it would make them all cranky. I have a kid with ADHD, one with ADHA thats also on the spectrum. We wanted a special dinner that night. I was told by Courtney, it would be fine, we could complete the park in that amount of time. We choose to move rooms, new room was not clean. They moved us buildings. 2nd New room was fine. I ask for a discount on a Saturday night stay so we could do the park then. I was told no. I was given dinner vouchers. We have stayed at this resort several times and it was not this bad.
