Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Always a wonderful time here! Rooms are clean and it’s a cool 50s style beach themed hotel. I’ve stayed in various different buildings/rooms here and it’s always been really nice and no issues. Nice friendly staff.It’s a big resort area so be prepared to walk a bit to your room, depending on which building you’re at. If you have extra money to spend, they have bowling, restaurants, lazy river(floats cost money I think). Really nice pool and bar area outside, and views of Volcano Bay, the pool, and the Universal dry parks! Other fun activities to do outside by the pool as well. I could go on, but this place is worth it and loads of fun. My friends and I always have a good time and never want to leave.

We stayed here for 8 nights this month and from start to finish had an amazing time. Check In was quick and easy, the rooms were spacious, clean and most importantly quiet. The diner was great for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the bar in reception was perfect for a quick drink after a busy day at the parks. The hotel pools were clean and had plenty of sun loungers, but with passes for volcano bay the 5 minute walk to there was also a great option. The bus service to city walk was quick and frequent which saved us lots of Ubers if we would have stayed at I-drive instead. All of the staff that we dealt with were really helpful and friendly, I can’t think of anything negative to say about our time here. We will definitely return. Thanks for a great stay!

Rooms were wonderful. 2 people in the 2 bed and spacious for us both to get ready in the morning. Clean and comfortable. Soft beds so I disliked them but that's to my preference of harder beds. - Service was great, room service came regularly with the only issue being reseting the room temperature which is probably part of the job. We stayed for 5 nights and left the comforter off our beds and on a chair where they stayed until the day before the last night where they were put back on the beds.

Out family stayed 2 night to visit Islands of Adventure. Cute theme, good staff. Pretty crowded, but designed well to handle the large volume of guests. The pool area was SO fun! Food was good. Room comfortable. And free 10 minute transfer to and from Universal was amazing.

Cabana Bay’s location to universal and the parks is great. Overall theme, accommodations, pool, weren’t bad at all. Food was great, bowling alley and arcade is a plus for easy access fun. The biggest issue we had was the rooms. Halfway through our stay, we came back to our room reeking of weed. Definitely not something I want my family to have to tolerate when we spent our $1K here. Spent an hour talking with 3 different employees behind the front desk to even try to get a different room. Supervisor and management told us “it’s not that bad” “the smell won’t make you get in trouble”. At one point they said they will give us money back to find another hotel (9:30PM on thanksgiving). We ultimately got a different room after someone apparently cancelled at 1030PM or so ironically enough. Overall, we are going to spend our money elsewhere when we come back to universal. Certainly not spending this much to come to Cabana Bay when we can more than likely get better treatment elsewhere.
