The resort itself is beautiful. The grounds are well maintained, the beach and pools are excellent, and once we got out and started enjoying the property, we had a good time. Unfortunately, the service and housekeeping fell well below expectations for a resort in this price range. We experienced an 8+ hour loss of running water on our first day, inconsistent room servicing, and repeated housekeeping issues throughout our stay. The most concerning incident was discovering another guest’s underwear left in our room, which raised serious questions about the cleanliness standards. To the staff’s credit, they were courteous and responsive when issues were reported, and the experience gradually improved as the week went on. That said, many of these problems should never have occurred in the first place. This is a resort with tremendous potential because the property itself is outstanding. If management can improve housekeeping consistency and overall service execution, it would be an easy five-star destination. As it stands, the resort is let down by operational shortcomings rather than the facility itself.

Our experience at Candela in Cap Cana was absolutely amazing, and Franklin was truly one of the best! ❤️ He went completely above and beyond for our birthday celebration. He prepared a special table decorated with beautiful roses and waited for us, making us feel so incredibly special and appreciated. 🌹🥂 From the moment we arrived, his service was exceptional, attentive, warm, and genuinely heartfelt. Franklin didn’t just provide amazing service — he made our celebration memorable. You could tell he truly cared about making our experience perfect, and we will never forget the effort and kindness he showed us. Franklin, thank you from the bottom of our hearts! You were absolutely outstanding, and Candela is lucky to have someone like you. You deserve every ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and so much recognition for the incredible job you do! ⭐ 1/5 — VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE — I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESORT FOR FAMILIES Our family recently stayed at Dreams Cap Cana, and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. We are a family of five and members of Unlimited Vacation Club (UVC), so we expected a much higher level of organization, communication, and service. One of our biggest concerns started immediately upon arrival. We were traveling with our minor children and had been promised that our rooms would be located on the same floor. Instead, our rooms were placed on different floors. This was especially frustrating because we were told the resort was only around 30% occupied. We immediately asked to speak with Juliana, the person responsible for our reservation, hoping she could help resolve the situation. Despite our repeated attempts, it was nearly impossible to speak with her when we needed assistance. The only solution we were given was that they might be able to move us THREE DAYS LATER. For parents traveling with minor children, placing a family on separate floors after specifically promising otherwise is simply unacceptable. We are also UVC members, and during our previous reservations, our membership has been recognized with the appropriate welcome amenities, including a member banner and a bottle of champagne. This time, there was nothing. Even worse was what happened to our children. They entered an area designated for members and were asked to leave because THEIR ROOM did not reflect our UVC membership. Our children were embarrassed and humiliated. They are part of our family and our membership, yet they were treated as though they did not belong there because of how the resort had assigned their room. That was extremely upsetting to us as parents. Another major disappointment involved my father’s birthday. I surprised my father by arranging for him to join us on this family vacation, and we were expecting him to have a swim-out/pool room. I had already excitedly told my father about his special room. Then, on the SAME DAY OF HIS ARRIVAL, I was informed that his room had been changed. Imagine planning a birthday surprise for your father, telling him about the special pool room, and then having to explain that the resort changed it at the last minute. It completely took away from what was supposed to be a very special moment. This was not one isolated mistake. It was a series of disappointments: our minor children being placed on a different floor despite a prior promise, difficulty getting assistance from Juliana when we needed her, lack of recognition of our UVC membership, our children being embarrassed and removed from a members-only area, and my father’s birthday room being changed at the last minute. When a family spends this kind of money on a vacation — especially as UVC members — we expect commitments to be honored, reservations to be handled correctly, and our family to be treated with respect. After this experience, WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO DREAMS CAP CANA. Unfortunately, I also cannot recommend this resort to other families, particularly families traveling with minor children or UVC members expecting their membership and reservations to be properly recognized. There are too many beautiful resorts in the Dominican Republic to spend your vacation dealing with problems like these.

Has the most relaxing time at Dreams Cap Cana. We arrived early and we were able to check in, giving us a whole extra day there to enjoy which was nice. Food and service was amazing especially at Maravento Italian restaurant. The Sea Legs swim up bar we met Jordan, definitely knows how to make a drink always serving with a smile. A plus for us as we were mainly at the pool. the Palms Bar we met Hector- he has quite the attention to detail. His drinks not only looked amazing but taste amazing as well. We found the entire staff always greeting us. The reaort is definitely worth a try.

Holiday 2026 with my wife in Domenican Republic for the 5th time. -Thank you so much for making it an unforgettable experience for in case you read this Julissa, Claudia, Engel, Cesar, Vidal and the people from the Barefoot Grill-❤️ We stayed from 3 may until 8 may and are sad that we need to leave for our next destination. The walking buffet had sadly not so much variation but the other restaurants in the hotel were pretty good. The Asian restaurant and the steakhouse would be my recommendation. The ladies from the spa provide excellent service and in general for the resort if you did the preferred club upgrade the service the people provide is EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD when you treat them as human beings too. Don't forget that the people working there are also human beings and not everything is about you. Small note: at 11:30 the Barefoot grill opens and they have this snack called Boneless Chicken with Jamaican style sauce, this is a HIDDEN GEM, amazing snack but spicy(Asian level) be warned!!!! The resort has a lot of entertainment and is very child/family friendly. There is a singer/artist walking around at the resort and his name is Vidal, a very very talented singer who plays different instruments and has an amazing voice. I hope that anyone who reads this will be able to enjoy his amazing talent. Hopefully see you again anytime soon. Mucho gracias ❤️
