What I enjoyed most was finally staying somewhere I had read about for years. The Mandarin Oriental Bangkok completes my heritage hotel series, following Raffles Singapore, The Peninsula Hong Kong, and the Eastern & Oriental in Penang. I am something of a nerd for colonial architecture and the stories behind these buildings, and the MO delivers on both. You feel the weight of its history the moment you walk in — this is a property that has earned its reputation rather than manufactured it. The team went further than expected. They surprised us with a craft chocolate tuk-tuk to mark our anniversary — a thoughtful, genuinely charming touch, and exactly the standard you hope for from a hotel ranked among the world's top seven. Other highlights: the bath amenities are beautifully judged, with Amouage products that suit the heritage setting perfectly. The bed was among the best we have slept in anywhere. And the staff, almost without exception, were attentive without ever being intrusive. Thump up for the staff who is handle for our check-in and the yoga teacher. A worthy addition to any heritage hotel list, and one I would happily return to.

We stayed at this hotel from July 27 to July 30, 2026, and just like the year before, everything was absolutely outstanding. At this level, you wouldn’t expect anything less. This hotel truly lives up to its name – exceptional service, exceptional food, and simply the very best in every aspect. And yet, one person made this stay even more special. Room 819 would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to the kindest butler anyone could ever wish for. Our stay at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and exceptionally well looked after. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and offered a stunning view over the Chao Phraya River. We experienced a small issue with the air conditioning, but it was resolved immediately and very professionally, which showed the outstanding level of service throughout the hotel. A very special thank you goes to our wonderful butler, TukTuk. She went above and beyond every single day to make our stay perfect. Every evening, she surprised us with beautiful towel animal decorations and thoughtful little touches in our room that made us smile. Her kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made our honeymoon incredibly special and created memories we will cherish forever. We sincerely hope to see TukTuk again when we return to the Mandarin Oriental, because thanks to her, our stay was truly extraordinary. Thank you to the entire team for an exceptional experience. We cannot wait to come back!

An Exceptional Stay — Luxury Beyond Expectations From the moment we arrived, we were truly impressed by the genuine warmth and attentiveness of the staff. Everyone was incredibly thoughtful, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that every aspect of our stay was perfect. The atmosphere was exceptional — elegant, refined, and beyond what one would simply describe as “luxurious.” The room was beautifully designed, sophisticated, and every bit as impressive as its reputation suggests. Breakfast was outstanding, with excellent quality, variety, and presentation. What made this stay particularly memorable, however, was the combination of beautiful surroundings and truly attentive service. It was not just a luxurious hotel, but a place where we genuinely felt well cared for. A wonderful experience from beginning to end, and certainly a hotel that lives up to its reputation.
