You get what you pay for! I booked just 4 days at this hotel because I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews. Now, on my last evening here, my only regret is that I didn’t book for longer! The hotel is lovely, and the staff, including the reception team, have been very friendly and welcoming. My room was always very clean, and I had a beautiful view of both the sea and the mountains, which I paid a little extra for, but it was definitely worth it! The food was also really good, with plenty of options to choose from and something different every day. The only two things I wasn’t completely happy with were the fridge in the room, which doesn’t keep drinks cold enough, and the lack of drinking water provided in the room. You either have to buy your own water from the local shops or go downstairs to fill up a small glass, which isn’t very convenient. Apart from these small issues, I genuinely enjoyed my stay and have nothing else to complain about. My advice? Don’t let the negative reviews put you off. Everyone has different expectations, but personally, I had a lovely experience and wish I could stay longer! ❤️

Overall, SBH Maxorata Resort was okay and I would rate it closer to a 3-star hotel than a 4-star. The hotel is clean and in a great location, with the beach opposite and shops and restaurants within walking distance. There is also a good choice of pools. However, the hotel is in need of maintenance and refurbishment. The food was repetitive, often not very hot, and the snack bar served the same things every day. We were also disappointed that the second restaurant was closed throughout our stay. Most bar staff, waiters and the animation team were friendly, but some reception staff came across as moody and rude. Charging €4.50 per day to use the room safe was ridiculous. A lovely touch was the birthday surprise – a bottle of cava, a card and a specially decorated dinner table, which was much appreciated. Overall, there were some positives, but I expected more from a 4-star hotel.

After reading some of the reviews was abit nervous about staying here. The hotel is in a good location, good views, very close to the beach and local shops. Food was okay, a good selection, always warmish, didnt eat at the pool bar but always looked like a good selection. Good selection of drinks at pool bar. Staff were friendly and helpful Hotel rooms were always clean and tidy however hotel needs some serious maintenance, could do with a really good freshen up, and more attention to cleaning in communal areas, especially as this is a 4 star hotel. Could also do with a second bar as the only bar is around the busiest pool and the other pools are abit far from the pool bar. Also a warning that the transfer is a long one from the aiport. Could also maybe do with some more up to date sunbeds ( always plenty around the pool though) Spa was a little disappointing, sauna was out of order and was abit disappointed no indoor pool. Although the massage was lovely and the staff very nice. Overall a nice stay, nice weather, okay food. But would I stay here again no

I would recommend choosing this hotel. Although the hotel requires some renovations, such as replacing the tiles around the infinity pool and plaster& repaint the exterior, its location is amazing, sea view on 3 sides of the hotel, walking distance to the sea. Also, the family room is good size, more like 1 bedroom apartment and it includes a balcony too. Food is alright, always something to find, but a bit repetitive. A big minus is long waiting/ big queues. Same about the bar, nice drinks, especially the mojitos. But there should me more staff behind the bar, long queues , which is expected considering that most of the time there is only one person serving everyone. Thee staff is working hard and they should have more support. Also, there should be someone in charge of cleaning the areas around the hotel, especially the lower floors -2 to 0. There isn't anyone ever sweeping or cleaning the window screens by the pool either. Even though there are quite a few things that require improvements, we (family of four) had a great time and enjoyed our holiday. The animation team is nice and they're trying their best. They made a good show on the last evening/ the dance show. They could consider increasing the mini disco sessions, as it isn't more than 10 mins and the kids are really having a good time. Overall, we recommend this hotel and we'd be considering coming back. Good value for the money.

Very disappointing trip, we left 3 days early because the resort was so bad! The room did not look like the pictures. It smelt of cigarettes, had ants, looked like a budget hostel. We asked to move and the staff would now accommodate. The TV did not have any working channels. WiFi was so awful all around the resort, nothing would load and it would cut out constantly. The gym was about 2 machines in a stuffy room with no air con, no fan and no water. In fact, the lack of drinking water was an issue all across the resort. There were no bottles of water in the room and no fountains around the hotel other than in the bar and restaurant. Went to use the sauna and again no drinking water. In the restaurant you could get drinking water but in a tiny cup the size of a shot glass. Spent the whole time dehydrated. The food was sloppy and flavourless. Pizza at lunch time was nice, however this was pretty much the only good option and having it daily is too repetitive. The pool area was ok, but that was the only decent thing. Staff were really unhelpful about our issues and would not help us change our transfer to the airport.This resort was a complete waste of money.
