I was very satisfied with my stay at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit. The room was comfortable and well maintained, the restaurants offered excellent food, and the Executive Lounge provided a wonderful experience throughout my stay. The staff were professional, friendly, and attentive, which made my visit even more enjoyable. The only area that could be improved was the breakfast experience at Bella Sera on the 2nd floor. On a few occasions, there was a noticeable odor from some of the plates, which seemed similar to the smell that can occur when detergent is not completely rinsed off during the washing process. While this was a minor issue, I believe improving this aspect would make the dining experience even better. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would gladly return in the future. Thank you to the entire team for their hospitality.

Sofitel’s signature charm is very much at work here. Rooms and Common Areas The rooms are generously sized, and the 2023 renovation was clearly done with real style and restraint. Service requests handled through the in-room tablets work smoothly and efficiently. The overall feel is less funky and more traditional than the So/, but it is comfortable, polished and highly practical — especially for business travelers or digital nomads who need a proper desk and dependable Wi-Fi. Welcome of All Accor elite status is perfect, a thousand times better than for example Sofitel Singapore or Sofitel New York. The gym is well equipped, if somewhat compact, and having a trainer on site during the day is a smart touch, both for guest engagement and exercise safety. The pool is well maintained and shallow — too shallow for serious lap swimming, but spacious enough to enjoy without feeling crowded, even when several families are using it. Club Millésime The décor is classic, almost Art Deco in spirit, particularly around the bar — a clear contrast with the more contemporary, fashion-driven feel of the So/. The overall experience is solid, although it does not quite match the So/ in terms of food or service. Service has that familiar Thai warmth: kind and attentive, without ever becoming intrusive or overly formal. A nice detail is that the chef comes through the lounge during aperitif hour to speak with guests. That said, the team does not seem to recognize returning guests over the course of a stay, which makes the welcome feel a little less personal than it could be. The food selection is more limited than the buffet at the So/, but the Asian-inspired bites are excellent. Standouts include the rice noodles with lemongrass chicken, the spicy scallop, the dumplings and the beef green curry. One surprising detail: there is no champagne on the menu. Instead, there is a very decent prosecco, a cava best avoided, an interesting rosé, two fairly forgettable whites and reds I did not try as warm climat tends to keep me from reds. The cocktails are limited but well made; for anything beyond the list, Belga or one of the hotel’s other bars is the better option. The lounge’s greatest asset is still its scale and its sweeping view over Bangkok, clearly superior to the So/, where the panorama feels less impressive and comfortable seating is more limited. In the end, this is a classic, dependable Sofitel: it certainly does not disappoint, even if it never quite manages to truly dazzle.

I checked in at Club Millésime, the Sofitel lounge, where a staff member named Friend provided incredible assistance with a room upgrade for our anniversary, allowing us to have a truly blissful time. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Friend for always greeting us with a bright smile and warm hospitality. I will definitely return to Sofitel for a 2-3 night stay on my next visit to Bangkok, purely because of Friend. Having previously stayed at Sofitels in Australia and South Korea, this stay was exactly what you would expect from the brand—truly authentic. From the breakfast selection to the charming, elegant French-inspired interior, everything was delightful. I understand the swimming pool was recently remodeled; while it isn’t massive, it has a lovely, clean atmosphere. I was especially impressed by the changing room facilities, including the sauna and the swimsuit water extractor. Furthermore, the 3rd-floor skywalk provided incredibly convenient access to Terminal 21 and the nearby Asoke intersection, and Korea Town is located right across the street. Though it was only a 1-night stay, it was a thoroughly satisfying and memorable experience.

Overall, I left feeling quite disappointed. The room itself was lovely and the facilities were great, but unfortunately the service didn’t match the standard I’d expect from Sofitel. From the moment we checked in, the experience felt off. The lady who welcomed us was quite cold, and first impressions matter. It immediately made the start of our stay feel a little underwhelming. I also paid extra to be an ALL explorer member on top of my Gold membership tier, but honestly I didn’t feel there were any meaningful benefits. A late check-out is appreciated, but that’s not what defines great hospitality. Warm, genuine service does. It made me question the value of the loyalty programme when the overall guest experience felt lacking. There were also a few issues during our stay. The phones in the room weren’t working, so we had to use the one in the bathroom whenever we needed to contact reception. On arrival, we were welcomed with a plate of fruits in the room, which was a nice gesture. Unfortunately, two of the three fruits were still unripe, so they couldn’t even be enjoyed during our two-night stay. It felt like a small detail that should have been checked beforehand. The following day, the hotel kindly sent up a fresh fruit platter with an apology note regarding a billing issue. The gesture was appreciated, but we had already left early that morning and only returned late at night. By then, the fruit was no longer fresh. I couldn’t help but think it would have been more thoughtful to leave a note asking us to call reception when we returned so the fruit could be delivered fresh. Instead, it felt like the issue was simply being ticked off a checklist rather than genuinely resolved. The first night of the stay I had redeemed my stay plus benefit and second night was paid in full, but whether a stay is paid, redeemed, or booked through a benefit, every guest should receive the same standard of service. It’s a shame because the hotel itself has beautiful amenities and facilities, but hospitality is what people remember most. For me, it felt like the art of hospitality was missing here. Sadly, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

We had an amazing stay and would like to thank the entire Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit team for their outstanding hospitality! From the moment we arrived, Meena from the Front Desk welcomed us with a warm smile and made us feel genuinely cared for. Throughout our stay, she was helpful, attentive, and proactive in ensuring everything went smoothly. A special thank you to the team at Club Millésime Lounge; Mariela, Friend, Tide, Henry, Gift, Crispy, Baeju, and Bia. We thoroughly enjoyed the lounge experience. Breakfast quickly became the highlight of our mornings, with a wonderful selection of delicious dishes each day. The Hainanese Chicken Rice was our favourite! Another standout was the freshly baked chocolate cookies served during afternoon tea. They were absolutely irresistible. They were soft, rich, and so good that we simply couldn’t stop reaching for more! The Concierge Team; Pete, Tui, Natty, Boy, Tony, Tee, Tow, Tum, Palm, Kevin, and Khao took great care of us every day, assisting with our luggages and always being ready to help whenever needed. Lastly, thank you to Kaew and Manee from Housekeeping for keeping our room spotless and ensuring turndown service was done perfectly each day. The genuine warmth and attentiveness of the team made our stay truly memorable. We look forward to returning again soon!
