Sol Fuerteventura Jandia - All Suites

This was our 3rd visit to Fuerteventura, and first time staying at the Sol Fuerteventura Jandia. Room A429 was reasonably sized, with a good sized balcony offering a partial sea view. The room comes with a smart TV in the main room and a smaller TV in the bedroom. There is also a good amount of clothes storage, a small fridge and a safe for storing valuables. Unfortunately the WiFi in our room stopped working the day after we arrived, and despite contacting reception staff about this on 5 separate occasions over the remaining 5 days of our holiday, the WiFi was still not working when we left. This means you cannot use the smart TVs to stream things like Netflix or Disney+. The Hotel has a decent sized swimming pool, with a much smaller paddling pool at the back of it. Be advised that with only one main pool area, the bathing area is usually full up by around 10:30 am. Alternatively, the beach is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel reception. The buffet food in the restaurant was of a generally high standard, with a fairly good variety of options throughout our 6 day stay. Drinks are self service from coffee machines and fruit juice or wine and beer dispensers. Be advised that this hotel is close to the southern tip of the island, and was the last of 12 stops our Jet2 coach made on it's way from the airport. This meant a commute time of around 2 hours and 30 minutes each way.

One of the biggest disappointments during our stay was the attitude of some of the bar staff, both around the pool during the day and in the evening bar areas. Unfortunately, they often came across as rude, unwelcoming, and completely lacking in hospitality — particularly some of the female staff members. Simple things like smiling, greeting guests, or being pleasant seemed like too much effort. Instead, it often felt as though guests were an inconvenience to them. At the snack/pool bar, staff regularly stood chatting amongst themselves while customers waited, and there was very little courtesy or friendliness shown. I also found it frustrating how much emphasis was placed on telling guests what was not included in the all-inclusive package, rather than trying to provide a positive customer experience. There seemed to be great pleasure taken in pointing out extra charges for drinks instead of handling it politely and professionally. I strongly believe that if someone chooses to work in the hospitality industry, being pleasant and welcoming should be part of the job. Guests work hard and spend a lot of money on holidays to relax and feel valued. I work professionally to earn my money, and I expect at the very least to be treated with basic courtesy and made to feel welcome as a paying guest. Rude staff can completely affect the atmosphere of a holiday, and sadly that was the case here.

Great hotel, staff were all fantastic (especially Maite)! Rooms were better than expected - really spacious and clean. There was lots of choice with food (although fairly repetitive, but that’s to be expected!). Close to the beach and the small town with lots of restaurants. We loved Paula’s Aqua gym

This is our 3rd time staying at this resort and we paid more for this room than any of the others, but unfortunately, experienced more issues! The door was damaged and difficult to open, plus my partner’s key failed twice so he needed to get replacements. Mine failed once and needed to be reset. The safe was a nightmare to get in and out of each time we tried to use it. There was no kettle in the room this time and we had to purchase one! The food was average and the temperature of the food worse. My partner had to keep microwaving his and he hates microwaved food but used it out of necessity. Our best meals were off site. If you want to book any adult activities on site, you cannot just go to reception, you need to locate a green shirted staff member. That can be more challenging than it sounds. All of that being said, the location of our suite next to the pool was great, the staff are warm and friendly, the local area is our favourite. So our holiday overall was still absolutely wonderful

Very disappointing experience. This hotel should not have a 4-star rating. The problems started immediately at check-in. The receptionist repeatedly said she could not hear me and seemed irritated, even though loud music was playing nearby and people were partying in the lobby area. This is clearly a management issue, not a guest’s fault. Finding the room at night was extremely frustrating. The directions from reception were unclear and I had to walk around the hotel in the dark with my luggage trying to find the room by myself. No assistance was offered. We paid extra for a “sea view” room, but the view looked nothing like the photos shown on booking websites. It felt very misleading. When I showed the reception the pictures from the offer, they were initially surprised by my complaint, but eventually admitted that I was right. Unfortunately, after requesting a room change, we were given another room with exactly the same view – facing a building. That night it was raining and very windy. The entrance door to the room kept banging loudly the entire night, making it impossible to sleep. I had to block the door myself just to reduce the noise. At the same time, rainwater from a gutter was hitting the concrete very loudly, which suggests poor maintenance. To make things worse, the TV kept turning on automatically during the night and started playing hotel advertisements, waking us up several times. In the end, I had to unplug it. The food situation was also very disappointing. The hotel clearly cannot handle the number of guests staying there. Food items run out quickly and there are long queues for everything. One morning we arrived for breakfast at 9:00 and there were no eggs left, and we were told there would be no more that day. By the time you finally get your food and find a place to sit, it is already cold. The quality of the food and drinks is very poor. Even tea and coffee were difficult to drink, and the fruit looked old and not fresh. For the price this hotel charges, you can definitely find much better accommodation. I cannot recommend this place and would strongly advise future guests to consider other options.
