A Tranquil Bangkok Oasis That Keeps Getting Better We recently spent three nights in a Club Room at The Sukhothai Bangkok, returning for the first time since July 2019. From the moment we checked in at the Club Lounge, we were reminded why we loved it then – smooth, relaxed check in, a delicious welcome drink, and genuinely warm, attentive staff. Our Club Room was spacious, very well equipped, and beautifully quiet. The wooden shutters block out all morning light, the bed is extremely comfortable, and the bathroom is large with excellent amenities, refreshed daily. The Club Lounge is a real highlight. Each evening offered a different themed buffet (Italian, Indian, Chinese), all of which were excellent, with a strong selection of wines, cocktails, and mocktails. Breakfast is outstanding – the best we’ve had in Bangkok – with a huge variety of Western, Japanese, and Thai dishes, freshly blended juices, and eggs made to order. A special mention to Executive Chef Joachim Textor, who is both talented and wonderfully engaging. The grounds and pool area feel like a peaceful oasis in the city, with efficient poolside service and thoughtful touches like constantly replenished orange infused water. We also toured the Spa and Gym, both of which looked first class. We’ve previously stayed at the Mandarin Oriental, often rated the best in Thailand, but we now firmly prefer The Sukhothai. For its serene atmosphere, consistently high service levels, and outstanding food and beverage, it has become our favorite luxury hotel – not just in Bangkok, but worldwide.

Stayed at The Sukhothai Bangkok and it was honestly an exceptional experience from start to finish. As a GHA Platinum member, I was fortunate to be upgraded to a Deluxe Suite with full club lounge access — a fantastic perk that really elevated the stay. The hotel itself feels like a true sanctuary in the heart of Bangkok, surrounded by lush greenery and a sense of calm that’s rare in such a busy city. The suite was beautiful and incredibly spacious, with a very generous bathroom that made it feel even more luxurious. Breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of high-quality options to suit all tastes. The club lounge access was also a highlight, with great benefits and a relaxing atmosphere throughout the day. The pool area is stunning — perfect for unwinding — and the staff were consistently warm, friendly, and attentive. Location-wise, it’s very convenient, with easy walking access to both Sala Daeng BTS and Lumphini MRT stations. The only minor downside was the Bangkok heat in early April (which can be quite intense!), but that’s hardly the hotel’s fault. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a peaceful, elegant retreat with beautiful greenery right in the city.

We had the most incredible time celebrating our anniversary at the Sukhothai Bangkok. The staff were the most friendly and accommodating that we have experienced at a hotel. They added special touches to make our anniversary trip ever more special. The grounds are beautiful and offered a tranquil retreat from the chaos of Bangkok. We were able to walk to several restaurants nearby and were a short walk from the skytrain and BTS, making location perfect. Definitely one of our favorite stays thus far!

I actually stayed here before but never wrote a review, so this time I decided to share it with some photos. The overall atmosphere feels very elegant with a strong Thai character in the design. The room is spacious and comfortable, with a nice living area and a very large bathroom. Service from the staff was friendly and professional throughout the stay. One thing that really stood out to me was the fitness center — it’s huge and very well equipped, probably one of the biggest hotel gyms I’ve seen. Overall a very comfortable stay and a hotel with a unique Thai-style

My wife booked the Sukhothai Bangkok hotel, for a 3 night relaxing trip from Singapore (short flight). From the moment arriving the service and attention from the staff was impeccable. The surroundings and tranquility of the hotel, located in the central and diplomatic heart of Bangkok are perfect and extremely relaxing. Our Club room booking was comfortable and luxurious, although a little dated (we were totally happy with the decor/furnishings) No USB-C connections would be the only criticism, which is a very minor detail. I have read others criticising the Club Lounge, and I cannot understand why?! Again, the staff are so very personable and attentive ensuring you experience that ‘special’ customer feeling. The various complimentary food and drinks available in the lounge at various times throughout the day are extensive and of a high quality. We ventured into the main hotel for breakfast a couple of days and the vast range of international options was breathtaking. Again, the quality of offerings was exceptional. I noticed the head chef moving around the restaurants both in the main hotel and Club Lounge carefully examining the food presentation….very hands on approach. We ate one evening in the Celadon restaurant which is a Michelin stared Thai restaurant - couldn’t have picked a finer Thai cuisine dining experience in Bangkok with the added benefit of it being on site - this is a must for those staying at the hotel. The hotel pool and surrounds are inviting and comfortable. We had a couples treatment at the Spa - Turkish Bath Ceremony. The venue is stunning, but the treatment was nothing special (maybe the type of treatment was not conducive to relaxing!) The male masseur I had, scrubbed my body a bit too vigorously, whereas I observed my wife having a pleasant/much slower scrub. We ventured to another quality local spa and experienced a much better massage/treatment at a fraction of the price. I sure their other treatments are much more enjoyable and relaxing!
