I personally had a not up to par experience at the Contemporary resort. Besides the proximity to Magic Kingdom that’s the only perk. First, you’re paying $700+ a night for no microwaves in the room and fridge that is not cold enough to store milk. So, good luck feeding bottles to your baby without having to go downstairs every single time. Second, when my son contracted a stomach virus from the hotel- I know this because I saw several other kids puking in the lobby- I called the front desk overnight. After I asked for housekeeping, I asked for a small bottle of water and who I spoke with told me, “I don’t think we can do that.” Mind you my son threw up all over the carpet, floor, and all the way onto the mattress. Housekeeping at night brought sheets but did not put them on the bed and only spot cleaned the floor. I had to call again in the morning and requested a deep clean. The cleaner just slapped sheets on the bed after I told her there was vomit all over the mattress and said “oh well.” She also only vacuumed up the throw up. I had to call again to have someone come up and clean the carpet. The cleaner also didn’t even clean the tub or bathroom. Thankfully we got trip insurance so we decided to leave that day. There was no point staying while my son was sick to try to wait it out in a hotel room they clearly don’t clean well here for $700 a night. The contemporary does not take illness seriously so if you want the flu or the stomach bug stay here. On my way out there was a poor mother in the lobby with her son puking on the floor and over the trashcan and she was attempting to clean it up with baby wipes. No CM or house cleaning in site to help for the whole 20 mins it took to load my car I saw her struggling. I told the front desk and guest services all these complaints before I left with no offer to make things right multiple times with the room situation. Everyone talks about the Disney magic, but it was anything but. Between how I was treated from the front desk to house cleaning.

The location is the main draw of this hotel, followed by the rooms. It is a really quick walk to the park, and the monorail back to the hotel is a quick one-stop that stops literally right inside the hotel. The rooms are extremely comfortable and spacious and the sound proofing is pretty good. The amenities are a little disappointing though - for that price point, I was hoping for at least some more premium amenities, but you're not getting anything different from the cheaper hotels. Nonetheless, we had a terrific stay and loved how we could see the park from the beds!

Disney's Contemporary Resort Review Rating: ⭐⭐ — The Contemporary Has Lost Its Way Stay Date: February 2026 Cost: $1,272.48 (one night, after taxes and fees) ________________________________________ Review Text We just returned from a stay at Disney's Contemporary Resort (February 2026) and were shocked at how far this iconic property has fallen. Our single night cost $1,272.48 after taxes and fees. For that kind of money, you expect a world-class deluxe experience. What we got was far from it. Physical condition: The walls around the elevator banks are visibly smashed in and damaged. For a resort charging nearly $1,300 a night, this level of deferred maintenance is unacceptable. It gives the entire property a neglected, run-down feel that is completely at odds with the Disney standard we've come to expect. In-room condition: The TV remote control in our room didn't work — dead batteries. Rather than a quick fix from housekeeping or a phone call to maintenance, we had to physically go downstairs to get new batteries installed. At $1,272 a night, basic room readiness checks should be a given. This tells you everything you need to know about the state of their preventive maintenance and room turnover inspections. Bell Services: Virtually non-existent. We waited an unreasonable amount of time for luggage assistance. Calling the bell services desk went unanswered — the phone simply rang with no pickup. For guests arriving after long travel days with families, this is a basic service failure. Valet: Extended waits to retrieve our vehicle. When you're paying a premium for valet parking on top of an already $1,272 room rate, the expectation is prompt, professional service. This was neither. The bigger picture: It's clear that Disney is cutting staffing levels and deferring property maintenance while continuing to charge top-dollar rates. At nearly $1,300 per night, the Contemporary should represent the absolute best of Disney hospitality — monorail access, stunning views, attentive service. The location is still there, but the service and upkeep have deteriorated significantly. We've stayed at this resort multiple times over the years and this was by far the worst experience. Until Disney reinvests in staffing and property maintenance to match what they're charging, we cannot recommend the Contemporary Resort.

Stayed here a year ago. Amazing location close to MK. Pool is nothing special. Theming is subtle and less crowded that other luxury resorts. My parents loved this hotel because it was a bit more quiet and "less busy" than the Polynesian for example. Steakhouse 71 is really good, especially for breakfast. Follow me on YouTube for more Disney stuff at @TheDBMGuide (Disney Boy Mom). Thank you friend!

Stay at another Resort. Was just at Disney for Valentine's Day and need to find a hotel for the night. We saw that The Contemporary had a room for my family of 5 for the night and it was $1200 after taxes. My wife and I looked at each other and said Happy Valentine Day and my oldest daughter has been wanting to stay here forever. We left Epcot my wife and oldest daughter took the monorails which took them for a ride cause they had to do a transfer. I took my 2 youngest kid and drove to the resort. I was trying to find parking for check in but to cast members were asking me if I wanted to do Valet parking I told that I was interested and proceeded to find parking which was a hassle. I walked into the lobby which has a weird layout and went to the front desk the sign that said stand here was turn and I didn't see it. So I ask a cast member to see where the line was and she snapped at me and told me to stand next to sign which was turn to be wait till I was called. I wait about 7 min there was another 2 cast members helping other families. I decide to see if I could check in online and was able too, after waiting for 10 minutes to finally get on to the elevator and got to our room. The room was well theme with the incredible nothing to over whelming, the USB outlet had low power which made charging all our devices difficult. The bathroom was nice and elegant but the low water pressure made it difficult for the girls to was their hair. From the room you could hear everything from outside, the kids running up and down the hall and everyone at the restaurant and shop below us. Our room were located on the fifth floor one floor above the main area with all the restaurant and shops. The food at the contempo restaurant is not as wide range as other Disney resorts main restaurant are. I gave this resort a 2 star cause out of 9 Disney resorts we stayed at this by far the worst. From the moment you enter you don't feel like you are at Disney like you do at other resorts it feel like a hotel at an airport. Low staff issue at the front desk, floors 2&3 are used for conference and convention center. For the price you pay is not worth it, my family and I left disappointed 😞 this resort is not Disney. If you are coming to Disney for a vacation DO NOT STAY HERE!! You will NOT get the Disney magic you are looking for!! And will leave with a bad taste in your mouth like we did and I for a fact know that this is not Disney.
