The hotel is clearly worn down, outdated, and overall feels more like a three-star property than a luxury hotel. A positive aspect is the good location in the Medina. One of the biggest issues was cleanliness. We found cockroaches in our room, which forced us to change rooms during our stay. The reception staff, in particular, were not very attentive or welcoming. Customer service overall lacked professionalism and friendliness. The breakfast was basic, offering a low-level continental selection with limited quality and variety. Overall, the hotel needs renovation, better hygiene standards, and improved customer service. We would not consider this a five-star hotel by international standards.

The hotel is beautiful and the location couldn't be better. It is inside the medina, but right at the entrance, which means you can enjoy the atmosphere without too much noise. The staff were extremely friendly and kindly upgraded us to a spectacular suite, which made our stay even more special. I am not giving five stars because we had one experience that slightly spoiled our stay. We booked a private guide for the medina through the hotel. We do not regret taking the tour, as we learned many interesting things, but we spent a significant amount of time visiting shops where the guide was clearly receiving commissions and where the prices were excessively high. The whole experience made us feel pressured to buy. What was even more disappointing is that we were told the products were high-quality handmade crafts, when in reality they were not. We felt misled and, ultimately, scammed. Therefore, if the hotel offers you a guide, I would recommend being cautious and making it clear that you are not interested in shopping stops. Apart from this issue, everything else was excellent and we had a very enjoyable stay.

Perched gracefully above the bustle of Marrakesh, this charming rooftop bar of the hotel Les Jardins de La Koutoubia offers a welcome sense of calm — rather like stepping onto a quiet balcony above a lively theatre. With the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque framed beautifully in the view, it provides a moment of pause and perspective above the vibrant energy of the surrounding neighbourhood. The cocktails are classic in style, perhaps not seeking to reinvent the art of mixology, yet executed with admirable precision and balance. At 120 dirhams, they are perfectly reasonable by rooftop standards and arrive exactly as they should — elegant, well-measured, and thoroughly enjoyable. The service deserves particular praise. Efficient, swift, and pleasingly discreet, the staff manage the delicate art of attentiveness without intrusion. Drinks arrive promptly, requests are handled with quiet professionalism, and the overall rhythm of the place feels relaxed yet well orchestrated. What truly makes this spot special, however, is the atmosphere. As the evening settles and the city lights begin to flicker below, the terrace becomes a small refuge from the hum of the streets. The distant sounds of Marrakesh drift upward — softened by height and distance — while the silhouette of the Koutoubia stands serenely against the sky. In a city famous for its intensity and colour, this rooftop offers something equally valuable: a moment of serenity above the spectacle. A lovely address for a sunset drink, a quiet conversation, or simply to admire Marrakesh from a slightly more contemplative vantage point.

We had a fantastic stay at Les Jardins de la Koutoubia, perfectly located in the heart of the Medina, just a short walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa. The location is ideal for exploring, yet the hotel itself feels like a calm and elegant oasis away from the busy streets. We stayed in a mini suite, which was spacious, beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style, and very comfortable—perfect for relaxing after a day in the city. The hotel features two heated pools, one of which is on the rooftop with beautiful views over the city, making it a great spot to unwind. One of the highlights was definitely the rooftop Indian restaurant—delicious, high-quality dishes paired with breathtaking views over Marrakesh and the Koutoubia Mosque, truly unique experience. The hotel also has a spa with a traditional hammam, which is a nice experience, although we found it to be quite overpriced compared to similar options in the city. Hammam was overheated, marble was so hot we could not sit or stand, but the staff were uncaring, just left us there inside. We do not recommend. Anyway the hotel service throughout our stay was warm, attentive, and professional. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of fresh and local options. Overall, a perfect combination of location, comfort, and atmosphere—we would happily return.

Such a wonderful start to our trip here! Everything was phenomenal - the room, the meals, the personnel, the location - it could have not been more perfect. I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat - highly recommended!
