I was very pleasantly surprised by my stay at the Lexington Hotel! The rooms are small (true of nearly every hotel in NYC) however the closet was very deep and the dresser was just large enough for my partner and I to unpack. Perfect sized room for two people - any more would have been a bit of a stretch. Same is true for the bathroom - small but just enough shelves & storage to unpack. Great water pressure in the shower and no issues with hot water. Heating & AC worked as expected. Housekeeping was consistent, refreshing towels and emptying trash on a daily basis was so helpful! The elevators were very efficient and reliable, never had any issues getting in or out of our room. The location is great! Super walkable to the theater district and very fun to be in close proximity to 5th Ave, Rock Center, and the SE corner of Central Park. Overall a great stay, would come back and would recommend to a friend!

Surprised about these negative reviews. In New York City, you have to pay an inordinate amount of money to get a large expansive room. So the room was a fairly standard size, but very efficient in what it had to offer. This hotel, symbolizes old world glamour with a lot of detailed finishing touches. In fact, Joe DiMaggio, and Marilyn Monroe lived here at one point. The location is marvelous, the staff went above and beyond, and it was super convenient for everything we had to do in the Midtown area. All in all, a great experience. We will return to this hotel for sure.

The hotel is beautiful the location is really good, but for the price I was expecting a better room and breakfast service. The room had a slight smell and felt a bit small. The breakfast was the same for three days in a row and the options were very limited. Another thing I didn’t like was the nightly bar fee, even if you don’t use the bar, you still have to pay for that service. On top of that, the bar bill automatically includes an 18% service charge without asking, and then they still ask for an additional tip.

Really enjoyed my stay at The Lexington Hotel. Yes, rooms are small - it is NYC - but mine was in great condition. The room stayed properly temp control (still using AC in October!). Found the shower water pressure very relaxing. Bed was comfy as well. I am a gym rat and enjoyed my visit to Crunch Fitness which is complimentary for hotel guests. Would definitely return on an upcoming work trip.

I worked in the hotel industry for 13 years, (Starwood International), and stayed at the Lexington 2 days ago. The $3 per bag (cash only) to hold your luggage is ridiculous. We were told that our rooms would be ready early, (1pm), but they were not ready until the regular checkin time at 4 which I do understand. When we tried to get dressed, the electricity in the bathroom and by the entry door went out. The staff very quickly had the breaker reset, but then it went out again in about 10 minutes. This time we had maintenance come up after the breaker had been reset a second time and were told that we could not use the hair dryer in the bathroom as it would cause the breaker to blow! We were not using the hair dryer either time, but that is not the issue - this is a hotel and we should be able to use the hair dryer that is provided. Since there is no mirror by the desk, we could not even use the hair dryer there. There was a large mirror by the entry door, but the power there did not work either. The furniture and walls were dirty and stained, the bathroom sink would not drain, the electric eye that flushes the toilet did not work, etc. None of the above things are acceptable and the electrical issues are dangerous. The bar was very nice, and the Starbucks in the hotel was a very nice addition; especially since the rooms did not have coffee makers. I assume this may be because of the electrical problems. The complaint line in the lobby was so long, we did not bother to attempt to ask to be moved although the cleaning staff had offered it. We had two rooms for 2 nights and there were multiple issues in both - lights bulbs only staying lit for 2 or 3 minutes and both rooms just old and dirty. That said, the lobby is beautiful and all the staff we encountered were very nice, but I would never stay there again and do not recommend it to anyone.
