I stayed here for two nights and wanted to start by highlighting Mohamed at the front desk. He made our check-in process super fast and efficient. He was very kind and welcoming , we definitely need more people like him in hospitality. The room overall was acceptable. I do think it could use a deep cleaning and maybe some upgrades, especially in the bathroom area. I understand that you may want to maintain the hotel’s original concept and style, but a little refresh would make a big difference. That being said, the hotel is very accessible to everything and perfectly located. For my short trip to the city, it worked out great. Overall, I would recommend it.

Midtown location close to Penn Station and Times Square. Exceptional service, notably Linda at the front desk. We asked for a higher level room and were given a suite on the 40th floor overlooking Manhattan. There are two restaurants on site, TikTok Diner and Butcher and Banker. More on those later. Housekeeping was excellent, the hotel is clean and the lobby is beautiful art deco styled. The lobby does get crazy around 11a.m. checkout time. My only complaint was that the bedroom TV didn't work during our entire stay, despite numerous notices to the front desk. Otherwise, a fantastic four night stay.

Nada! Assistant Manager at the New Yorker Hotel I recently stayed at the New Yorker Hotel and unfortunately left my hair styler inside the room safe. When I realized, I reached out for help — but after dealing with several different staff members in person, I was passed from one person to the next with no real effort made to locate my item. A few front desk employees seemed bothered by my requests to double-check all possibilities, and I left without even being given a case number. I went home feeling frustrated, unheard, and convinced my item was gone for good. Then I spoke with Nada, the Assistant Manager and everything changed. From the moment she picked up the phone, I could hear in her tone that she genuinely wanted to help. She didn’t rush me or dismiss me, instead, she asked thoughtful, specific questions and gathered every detail she needed. For the first time, I felt like someone was truly taking ownership of the situation. Within 10 minutes, she called me back — she found my hair styler. It had been accidentally logged under a different room number (an honest human error), but she sorted it out immediately. She even arranged for the Lost & Found team to contact me personally to verify the item, ensuring it was indeed mine. Nada made me feel like more than “just another tourist who lost something.” She showed care, professionalism, and genuine dedication. qualities that are rare and deeply appreciated. Thank you, Nada. The New Yorker Hotel is incredibly lucky to have someone as caring, capable, and committed as you on their team.

2nd stay at The New Yorker. Rooms are small ( You can upgrade to a larger room at nominal cost.). Hotel is in a great location...hotel is in need of a bit of sprucing up, but very clean & functional. Staff is courteous and helpful. When we checked in, Mohammed at the front desk was lovely and went out of his way to make sure we had an A ++ sta.

Don’t stay here. They up charge you a “facility fee” of $50/day for literally nothing. This hotel is old and shows it. The rooms are very small as in there was no floorspace large enough to lay my small suitcase open except the bed. The bathrooms have peeling paint and visible dirt in the corners. Bring flip flops. We travel a lot and I’m pretty flexible, but this was an order of magnitude outside of what was expected for an older hotel. The location is great and convenient, but for the cost you can find better options. Also kind of weird interaction with the guys grabbing taxis. He told the taxi we wanted a “flat rate” to the airport which was more than we paid with tip typically. I asked that the meter be turned on and it was, in fact, cheaper than the “flat rate”. There isn’t a flat rate to LGA. We come to NYC every year and booked this place for a kind of last minute trip. Never again. Seems built for inexperienced tourists who they prey on to scam.
