Had the best stay at Hotel Alameda! It was clean and cute and even the music was nice. We loved the area! The shining star of the hotel was Martin! It is rare to meet people who truly embody the meaning of hospitality, but he has mastered it! He is as helpful as he is kind and clearly dedicated to guest experience. He gave us great advice and suggestions about the neighborhood and the rest of NYC. He’s a real gem and so is Hotel Alameda.

Hotel Alameda is a stylish Chelsea gem! Rooms are modern and comfy (great beds, nice design, good amenities), though compact like most NYC spots. Service was friendly—staff helpful with check-in and recommendations. Location is solid: steps from the High Line, Chelsea galleries, trendy eats, and easy subway access. Rooftop bar views are a nice bonus! Great value for a chic, artistic stay.

Did not have a good experience staying at Alameda. The front desk staff is quite unresponsive, unfriendly, and rush you through check-in. These hotel rooms are incredibly small. Mattresses don’t have any back support and are staged directly on the bedroom floor. Pillows are incredibly large and made my neck hurt. Bathroom is small too, with a salad bowl sized sink and dirty shower curtains. The shower itself is visible to the room and there is no privacy, The hallways smell and the carpets are not clean. You are given a half roll of toilet paper and new towels need to be ordered very frequently. Not sure how this is a 4-star hotel, but I would not stay here again. Stay away.

Edited: Thank you management for your prompt response. Pros: Affordable, Close to High Line, and Friendly Staff Cons: Incredibly noisy late night event and $35 per night amenity fee Upon arriving, there was an event for a running club being held in the lobby and it was packed. The front desk staff was efficient in getting us checked in however. When giving our card for incidentals we were informed that there was a $35 a night fee for amenities. This was not disclosed in the Capitol One portal we booked through. The staff was very friendly, held out bags for us, and gave us an umbrella to borrow. Free coffee and water in lobby was nice as well. However, the trouble started with a private event in the basement that went on until 2am. We were on the 5th floor and could hear the base incessantly thudding. We are heavy sleepers and in our 20s so not easily bothered by noise, but it was so loud I stuffed my ears with toilet paper and could still hear it. I called the front desk to inform them and was placed on hold. The gentleman told me that the event would end at 2am and that he was just on the 3rd floor and heard nothing, but would do a round to check on it since it could be something else. He was clearly deflecting and unapologetic. Meantime in the background, I can literally hear someone calling down with the same complaint, “It’s too loud.” Nothing was done about it and the noise continued until 2am.

I stayed here last night, and honestly 10/10 experience. The second i stepped foot into the hotel I was warmly greeted by Martin. Martin was extremely kind, friendly and genuine. Honestly I could’ve stayed downstairs all night having a great conversation with him. On top of that his service was impeccable. Anything and everything i needed Martin was on it. Great vibes , i definitely would recommend staying here . Martin will take care of you and make sure you have a great time!!
