My wife and I recently stayed at the Moxy for three nights, and we had a great experience. At first glance, the room seemed a bit small, but we adapted quickly, and it turned out to be very cozy. We were really able to rest and recharge. The rooftop is an absolute highlight. The customer service was also excellent. The two guys who stored our luggage treated us incredibly well, and the front desk staff was just as accommodating. One evening, we were heading to a show at Madison Square Garden and it was raining. The front desk kindly offered us umbrellas, which was such a thoughtful gesture that literally saved our night! Overall, it is a vibrant and welcoming place, and we would gladly return.

As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I typically stick with Residence Inn or Courtyard when traveling for business. I know what to expect, and those brands tend to cater well to business travelers. For a recent business trip to NYC, however, I decided to try Moxy NYC Times Square because it was newer and only about a mile from the office. Let's start with what I liked. First, the location is excellent. You're right near 36th and 7th, within easy walking distance of Times Square, the Empire State Building, Penn Station, and plenty of restaurants and attractions. Second, the rooms were exceptionally clean. In fact, they were probably the cleanest rooms I've experienced at a non-luxury hotel. Third, the overall vibe. The modern design, energetic atmosphere, and common areas make it a fun place to stay, especially for groups or friends traveling together. What didn't I like? The room size. I understand that many NYC hotels have European-sized rooms, and I've stayed in plenty of them over the years. The room felt more like a bedroom with an ensuite attached. The two beds occupied most of the available floor space, leaving very little room for luggage, work, or storage. The "closet" consisted of a few pegs and hangers on the wall. I ended up using the second bed as my desk and staging area for my toiletries because there simply wasn't enough space elsewhere. (See the photos.) The other challenge was the noise. The windows did very little to block outside sounds, and NYC never really goes to sleep. Between the sirens throughout the night and the garbage trucks making their rounds in the early morning, getting a solid night's sleep was difficult. Add a little jet lag to the mix, and it became even more challenging. Would I stay here again? Probably not. The location, cleanliness, and vibe were all great, but for a business trip, I value a bit more space and sleep. Next time, I'll likely stay at the Courtyard that was closer to my office. If you found this review helpful, give it a like so it can help others too.

I stayed at Moxy for a work trip and had a very good overall experience. In the mornings they offer a grab and go breakfast, so don’t expect a traditional breakfast buffet. They also provide a food and beverage credit that can be used at the café next door, which is great and very convenient. The rooms are small but very comfortable, and the staff is super friendly. My boyfriend joined me on this trip and worked from the hotel in the mornings. They do have a nice workspace area, but it’s also where many guests sit to have breakfast, so it can get quite noisy. The music is also quite loud, which makes it difficult to take meetings without background noise. Aside from that, we had a very pleasant stay overall.

I had a wonderful two-night stay at Moxy and couldn't be happier with my experience! From the moment I arrived, everything was smooth and hassle-free. A huge shoutout to Craig, who truly went above and beyond. He was incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely cared about making sure I had a great stay. He helped me check in early, took care of all the details so I didn't have to worry about a thing, and even gave me a food voucher for the Moxy restaurant to use later. The hotel itself is in a fantastic, convenient location, and every staff member I interacted with was friendly and welcoming. If you're staying at Moxy, you're in great hands. I'll definitely be back. Thank you, Craig, for making my stay so memorable!

During my stay at Moxy Times Square, I experienced a thoughtfully curated guest journey that balanced efficiency, personality, and genuine care. From check-in onward, the team demonstrated strong service fundamentals paired with human warmth, an intersection that matters deeply in modern hospitality. I’d like to personally acknowledge Jimmi and Imani for their professionalism and welcoming presence, as well as Marco and Ossy for their attentiveness throughout my stay. A special mention to JP in Security, whose calm, consistent approach reinforced a strong sense of safety and trust. While Jason adhered closely to protocol, which I respect, especially as he is new, the overall service ecosystem still felt adaptive and guest-centered. I appreciate his attentiveness and commitment to doing the job right, and I’d also like to extend thanks to Jorge, Head of Security. Coming from a large convention hotel environment myself, I’m especially attuned to operational flow and interdepartmental coordination. I appreciated the seamless phone communication with Housekeeping and the team’s responsiveness, specifically Edmond, whose friendly demeanor and positive presence as a runner reflected strong service instincts. These interactions were clear indicators of effective internal systems and guest recovery readiness. The front-facing experience felt intentional, and the small touches (including treats and thoughtful moments of engagement) contributed to a sense of personalization without intrusion. Overall, this stay reinforced why I’m proud to be part of the Marriott family. Moxy offered a distinctive yet reliable experience, playful in brand, disciplined in execution. I’m grateful for the name-level recognition during my stay, and I’m always happy to elaborate further if feedback is helpful. Personal thank you again to Jimmi!
