My partner and I have just come to the end of our trip for our 30th birthdays. Before coming, reading the reviews - we were a bit concerned with what people had said. We booked a premium room to be on the safe side. We arrived after 7 hours of flights and the staff were very nice. We were early so wandered down to Times Square until check in. Our first room unfortunately was missing a blind chain so we weren’t able to put the blind down. However, after going to reception, they were very understanding and moved us to a new room which was better and they were nothing but apologetic. Electric blinds and an amazing rainfall shower which was brilliant. The bed was comfy and it had everything we need. Yes, it may need a fresh up here and there, but those kind of things don’t bother us whatsoever. As two people that only use the room to sleep, this was ideal location for us as we were out all day everyday. Yes the hotel is currently under renovation but this only affected us one day where the carpet in the hall was getting replaced but this was all done by the time we were back. I would definitely return here but if the renovation side of things bothers you, maybe book to stay when these are all done. The 17th floor is currently getting renovated and everything 18th floor (our floor) and above are more than adequate. Please don’t let some of the reviews put you off - especially if you’re like us and are never in the room and just use it for sleeping.

We worried when we saw some of the negative reviews of this hotel but honestly, we can’t fault it. The hotel was amazing, 10 min walk to Times Square one way and a 10 min walk to Central Park in the other direction. We were so central to everything, 3 subway stations within 5 mins walk made everything easy to get to. The staff were so friendly and always willing to help, the hotel was clean and welcoming. We were given an upgrade to the 20th floor, we did see when the elevator stopped on lower floors that they were not so modern and looked very outdated. However we can’t comment on the rooms, our floor was newly renovated and our room was perfect. Huge and comfy bed, walk in rainfall shower, hairdryer, coffee machine, steamer, everything we needed. Rooms were always cleaned very well and the staff were available to help us with anything we needed. There is currently construction/renovations happening at the hotel; scaffolding around the building and construction workers/electricians working inside the building but this never bothered us. The only negative I would say is the fact that the hotel only has a very small coffee shop that opens 6am-12pm with a limited menu. No other facilities for food or drinks, however this was New York so we had no problem walking 2-5 mins for whatever we needed. We loved our stay here and will recommend this hotel to everyone. For the price and location alone, we were extremely happy. The hotel itself and the friendly staff were just the added bonus.

3/5. It is very outdated and currently undergoing construction, so throughout the day and sometimes into the evening you can hear construction tools. It made it difficult to fully relax during the stay. My room was also near the elevator, and we could constantly hear it thumping every time it moved, which added even more noise. On the positive side, the room itself was clean. The sheets and towels were fresh and well maintained, which I appreciated. However, the room felt like it was falling apart in several places. The TV didn’t work at all because none of the channels had signal, the bathroom was very small, one of the sink handles was loose, and even the lampshade looked worn and damaged. Overall, the room clearly needs updating. The reason I still gave the hotel 3 stars instead of lower is because the location is excellent. It’s close to great restaurants, shops, and the subway, which makes getting around very convenient. Overall, it’s an okay stay if location is your top priority, but the outdated interior, maintenance issues, and construction noise were not what I expected.

This hotel was a great experience overall. We arrived and got upgraded to a king-size room — winning, right? Well… not quite. It was very basic and the shower completely gave up the next morning. I went downstairs and asked for our original room back and they sorted it straight away (credit where it’s due). Our original room was basic but comfortable, cozy, had a great view, and the shower was AMAZING (justice restored). Renovations were going on, but honestly for the price we paid, it was an absolute bargain. Breakfast wasn’t sit-down — it was a lobby queue, grab-and-go situation. You got a croissant or bagel with cream cheese, yogurt, a piece of fruit, plus coffee or tea, or orange or apple juice. Simple, but it hit the spot before heading out. I loved the American accent and the majority of the staff were friendly, made our stay comfortable, and really took care of us. Good location, tourist tax paid, concierge tipped for watching our bags — fully living my New York life. Best experience ever and I’d 100% stay here again.”** 😎🇺🇸✈️

Mohammed ❤️ what can I say, this man made our stay from the start to finish. From the first initial greet at the front desk to being so helpful, friendly and attentive throughout. This man honestly is a credit to this hotel. We had the most beautiful stay at the Manhattan hotel, let alone the location is perfect to anyone staying in New York but our room was also beautiful. For someone who has been to New York 13 times from London, I honestly love this city, I love the people, the food and evening the fresh air. However I finally took my fiancé’ for his first time as a Christmas present and when we got to our hotel, Mohammed managed to give us an upgrade to one of the new refurbished rooms. It was honestly stunning, it was so spacious, so light and just the start of our perfect stay. Now people can say it was about the upgrade, but it wasn’t it was down to Mohammed being him. My mum and auntie had one of the older rooms and yes they are a bit older but anything you need was in this hotel. It was just a lovely gesture and to see Mohammed going above and beyond to make my partners first trip to America incredible! Thank you Mohammed for making our experience and being such a wonderful man! Love the Brown Family!Mohammed ❤️ what can I say, this man made our stay from the start to finish.
