I do not recommend this hotel. Save yourself the hassle and book somewhere else. The room was old, dirty, and had a strong unpleasant smell. The hallways were also outdated and poorly maintained. Don’t be fooled by the newly renovated lobby—it gives a completely different impression from the actual guest rooms, which were a huge disappointment. The receptionists were not welcoming, unhelpful, and showed very little concern for guests. The customer service was extremely poor, especially when we needed assistance due to an emergency and requested a cancellation. We received no support at all. The only exception was Sir Alfredo, who did his best to resolve our concerns. He deserves 5 stars for his professionalism, patience, and willingness to help. Unfortunately, the hotel itself deserves the lowest rating for the overall experience. We were willing to pay the price, but we expected a clean, comfortable room and respectful service in return. Guests deserve accommodations that match what they are paying for. I hope future guests read this review before booking so they can make an informed decision.I

I am very disappointed with my stay at The Manhattan at Times Square. The biggest issue was that there was no hot water, making it impossible to take a comfortable shower. While the hotel explained that it was due to a Con Edison steam outage, the lack of hot water significantly affected our stay. Hot water is a basic amenity that every guest expects. I also paid extra for the breakfast package, but it only included a pastry, a piece of fruit, and a drink. For an additional charge, I expected a much more substantial breakfast. The room itself was outdated and poorly maintained. There was visible cement on the walls, and the housekeeping was below expectations. To make matters worse, one of the housekeeping staff entered our room without knocking, while we were inside. It was an uncomfortable and unacceptable invasion of our privacy. Another major issue was the noise. The walls are extremely thin—you can hear everything happening in the neighboring rooms and the hallway. If you’re looking for a quiet place to rest, this is not it. The hotel’s location near Times Square is convenient, but unfortunately, that was the only highlight of our stay. Between the lack of hot water, the disappointing breakfast, the poor room condition, the lack of privacy, and the excessive noise, I cannot recommend this hotel. There are many better options in New York for the price.

The location was good and near to everything we wanted to see. However, we had many issues. Our room was on the 22nd floor directly next to construction in the room next to us. We would loudly awoken at 7 am to literally drilling in our connecting wall.When we called the front desk they said they had no control over the construction and took no action. AC in room did not work well and room was extremely warm despite being set on low. Shower had poor pressure. Of the 5 elevators in the hotel only two worked making it take forever to go up or down. We wanted to store our bags at the hotel and the bellhop was rude and demanded a tip. We only had small backpacks and didn’t even require help to our room. I understand that it is usual to tip and planned on doing so but verbally demanding a tip is unprofessional and treating people unkindly when you don’t think they are going to tip you is rude and ridiculous. Having a complete attitude change after I hand you cash is completely unacceptable. Overall, not a good place to stay and would not stay again.

If I could give no star I would! We had our first room completely dirty, bathtub was full of body hair and nastiness all over ,the bathroom was all dirty, stains and whatnot on the bedding, the desk had food drinks etc stuck all over it and just all around dirty! The hallway leading to the room was smelly and stains everywhere it was beyond uncomfortable! None of the lights worked nor did the phone to call the desk. Then once moved to a new room it was no better hair in the tub and on the soap bottles. Water all over as if they had someone come hurry and rinse it down, we found hair in the bed of the 2nd room and the hallway was just as gross as the first! And the phone didn't work in the 2nd room either and the ac barely worked. When changing rooms the front desk said only a few floors are renovated and the hotel is 90% old .....how old it is has nothing to do with how clean it is!! And all of the photos representing this hotel look nothing like the rooms and floors we have seen, if so we would have never booked to stay here! We expected a nice clean hotel as pictured on there website! The worse part is they didn't even look surprised to hear about the rooms condition its so uncomfortable! On top of all this the elevators do not work properly and would come down and go right back up without the doors opening for anyone to get on ! Took 20 plus minutes just to use the elevators the first time and it was so backed up of people waiting and complaining.

My stay at this hotel was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I genuinely regret booking it. The property is extremely outdated and feels more like a run-down motel than a hotel. Many of the metal fixtures in the room were rusty, making the room feel neglected and poorly maintained. The amenities were far below what should be expected. There was no complimentary bottled water provided each day, and the room did not even include slippers—basic items that are standard at many hotels in this price range. The soundproofing was terrible. I could clearly hear my neighbors opening and slamming their doors, people talking in the hallway, and even full conversations from the room next door. It was nearly impossible to relax or get a good night’s sleep because of the constant noise. To make matters worse, the room door lock barely worked. The key card reader was extremely unreliable, and it took me nearly five minutes of repeatedly tapping my key card just to get into my room. For a hotel, this is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the property’s maintenance. The customer service was just as disappointing. I called the front desk multiple times, but no one ever answered. When I finally spoke with the staff in person, they were indifferent, unhelpful, and came across as rude. It felt like they simply didn’t care about guests’ concerns. Overall, this hotel is nowhere near worth the price. Between the outdated facilities, rusty fixtures, terrible soundproofing, unreliable door lock, lack of basic amenities, and poor customer service, I cannot recommend this hotel under any circumstances. There are far better options available in the area for the same price—or even less. Save yourself the frustration and stay somewhere else.
