Delicious breakfast included! Loved the location! Nice clean rooms and friendly, helpful staff.

The location is blocks away from time square so you’ll get the atmosphere but not exactly in the heat of the action. It’s calmer than the sister hotel, Manhattan Times Square. It’s walking distance to a lot of restaurants since it’s on Restaurant Row. The complimentary breakfast buffet is adequate. I have no issues with that. My issue was that on four different times, multiple people unlocked the door and almost barged into the room. They were not housekeepers. These appeared to be employees just barging in. It’s weird and creepy considering these people don’t know what could be going on behind the door yet unlocking and walking in. They apologized and walked back out. This happened four times and after the second time in one day, we addressed it with the front guest and all they said was they’ll review the cameras. Just now, we were lounging in our room before checking out(which is two hours before checkout time) and someone was about to barge in. Again, this wasn’t housekeeping. In the middle of our trip, we were out all day and our door was left open when we came back that evening. It wasn’t very wide open but anyone could have lightly pushed it and it would open. Thankfully nobody got in and our things were not stolen. It was a cool stay but they should really look into random employees coming into guests room unannounced and seemingly for no reason.

Perfect location in what I would consider the heart of the city, with access to multiple forms of transport and within walking distance of everything. Hotel rooms are excellent and well maintained. Staff are super friendly and helpful, cannot fault it. Elevators (lifts) are a bit of a lottery aka “lift roulette” at peak times and can sometimes take some time getting to your floor but that isn’t the hotel at fault, a busy hotel is a good sign. Breakfast was varied attending to everyone’s needs. Honestly cannot fault my stay in any way, 5 star review every day of the week 👍

Stayed here July 2026. Location is great, 1 block to times square and the opposite direction has tons of amazing restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Check in was arduous. Long line up and waited over an hour. Each check in taking 10-15 minutes!!! Way too long and unnecessary. Our room was a jr suite so slightly larger with a king and a pullout couch for our son. We were on the 27th floor so had nice views of the city. When booking, ask for a river view, its quieter. Only 2 pillows provided for the king bed and the bedding overall was dated. The breakfast was good, lots of variety. On our last day, the 22nd, the woman working in the breakfast area was extremely rude! Would not allow me to fill my coffee mug to take back to my room. The lady the day before was nice and said nothing about it. The hotel gym is pretty decent. Overall decent value for the money.

We had a wonderful stay at the Riu Times Square! The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Our room was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed for our trip to NYC. The breakfast experience deserves special recognition. It was exceptionally well organized from start to finish. The check-in process, moving through the line downstairs, being escorted upstairs, seated promptly, the food stations, and the quick clearing and resetting of tables all ran seamlessly. Even with the number of guests, everything was efficient and stress-free. What truly made our stay memorable were the thoughtful personal touches. Without us requesting anything, the breakfast staff surprised me by singing Happy Birthday, which was such a special moment. Later that day, the hotel also sent chocolates to our room with birthday wishes. These unexpected gestures made me feel genuinely celebrated and showed that the team goes above and beyond to create a memorable guest experience. Thank you to everyone at the Riu Times Square for making my birthday trip so special. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New York City!
